Like the title says, I learned alot at DATA. My professional skills matured year after year. The culture at DATA needs to change, there is little to no honest communication between management and executives down to their employees. Departmental divide is huge is this company, and with everyone not in the loop, the attitude is usually 'pass the buck'. Overall, the employee base is exceptionally friendly and professional, if only execs could understand retention is important.
Solutions designer (Current Employee) – Brampton, ON – 24 October 2018
the culture is a happy culture at Data. People are not stressed as much since the roles and responsibilities are well defined. Bottomless coffee cups for free is a big hit in this company. Work is done in a family oriented concept where people are familiar with one another.. The CEO is a very pleasant and engaging individual and so are the other senior management team. their pleasant demeanor is contagious. You can't help but smile on a daily basis.
Pros
Free coffee, very pleasant work environment. Very supportive management.
Electronic Form Designer, Programming (Former Employee) – Kitchener, ON – 26 October 2018
Learn a lot about coding for PDFs, using Adobe Acrobat Pro, Acro-Script, AODA using Jaws, Word, LiveCycle, and InDesign. The training is persistent with the job application.
Senior Account Executive (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 22 January 2019
Enjoyed my time there. I worked with a lot of great Customers and fellow employee's Data Communications is going in a NEW direction, which was not a match for me.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Edmonton, AB – 4 February 2018
Sent our jobs to Ontario. Don't waste your time. It was like working in a hornets nest and the managers don't know what they are doing and the President CEO should have left in March 2016 when he said he was going to leave.
Program Coordinator/Account Manager (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 14 November 2017
CEOs keep changing, upper management doesn't always make competent decisions that cause business financial loss. Don't always invest into existing clients needs to keep them happy, instead choose to let them go.
Credit and Collections Analyst (Current Employee) – Brampton, ON – 11 March 2018
Everyday we go to work and expect some new shocking surprises. Every morning there will be a change in routine.Either change in the accounts you are in charge with or change is place. not stable.
Digital and Direct Mail Project Manager (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 25 April 2017
Everyday is a busy day. A typical corporation binded by rules and regulations. There are a series of management levels. Just like other company there are still some biased decisions.
It was very unsafe, no communication due to language barriers
Order Selector & Machine Operator (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 6 December 2017
The best part of the job was occasionally getting to drive forklift. I also enjoyed helping with shipping and receiving. When picking orders it was also nice when you could locate the proper item without asking.
Flexo Press Operator (Current Employee) – Edmonton, AB – 9 November 2016
A steady and relevant company that has been horribly mismanaged. Better sales team effort would have helped greatly. Unfortunate to see the facility fall victim.
