Great place to work
I worked in the pastry chef department and was responsible for preparing and baking a variety of tartes, cakes, roulade and other Danish pastry chef items. It was a bit of a challenge to learn at first as most of products were new to me. But it was fun to learn and rewarding to see the focus on quality and to see the customer feedback and products being sold in the stores. I worked in the plant which is new and very clean. We had our own changing rooms and there is plenty of space to work. Most of the work is volume production, but there is limited automation for pastry chefs and everything is made fresh from scratch so meeting daily production can be stressful at times. They need more automation. The pastry team was great to work with and it is a family environment. Our manager was demanding but fair and the work was well organized. There is an employee discount (20%) and the wages paid were better than other locations.
