The most useful review selected by Indeedit is a good place to work but not for long periods of time because there isn’t a lot of staff and it is always very busy. good for part time people or after school job.

The job was terrible
Cook (Former Employee) - Coaldale, AB - 29 August 2023
The pay was terrible, only $13 until you were 18 but they never gave me shifts because they would have to pay me more. They never scheduled any shifts for me. The environment was not overall friendly.
Cons
Very little pay, hard to get shifts

Opener/cashier (Former Employee) - Belleville, ON - 15 June 2023
No vacation time. No benefits. Rude management and coworkers who yell at you in front of customers. Save yourself the trouble. I worked there for 3 weeks. 2 new girls cried their first week and 1 already quit. (Not including myself) Pros Discounts Cons Rude coworkers. One break. Yelling, hostile work environment

Overall job
Assistant Manager/Key Holder (Current Employee) - Ontario - 22 May 2023
Not payed properly. Not trained properly. Owner has few support for staff and the work they do. Management tries their best but has little help from owner. Too much responsibility falls on the “good” staff and are expected to do everything. No benefits.
Pros
Discounts, free pop.

Fun, Easygoing job
Cake Maker/Cashier (Former Employee) - Embrun, ON - 5 April 2023
Good beginners job. I found the workplace culture to be easygoing and fun for the most part. The job is pretty low stress aside from when it's summer and you have got to make a bajillion blizzards. Overall, nice starter job that you probably shouldn't stay at for more than a couple years just because it doesn't seem to advance your resume thar much.
Pros
Stress-free, flexible hours
Cons
Rushes a bit stressful

Fun for teens
Employee (Former Employee) - Chilliwack, BC - 28 March 2023
when i first got this job i was so excited. management was great and the employees were all so friendly. the manager was super chill with scheduling for students. that was until new management came along. the new manager that took over was TERRIBLE. no respect for anyone and no promotions or noticeable raises were given. after working there for two years i only got a raise for an extra 50 cents. otherwise it was super fun and making ice cream for work was actually enjoyable.

Great place to work met a lot of people shifts were okay some hours were long. It’s nice to get food at work and it’s cheaper than with high grocery prices

Hectic
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Jasper Ave - 22 March 2023
You don't get paid for training which sometimes takes multiple days to complete .Same can be said for the number of hours you have to work overtime (unpaid). If things get busy, expect not get a break.

Fun but stressful
Food Counter Attendant (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 15 March 2023
Making blizzards was fun but it can get very stressful. worked at a food court, usually only two people worked. One at front and one at kitchen, very stressful.
Pros
discount
Cons
mentally tiring, good first job

Low pay but alright job
Supervisor (Former Employee) - Amherst, NS - 11 March 2023
It was a job, low pay but good people. I worked there for several years. Flexible hours and always something to do. Good beginner job but wouldn't expect a lavish lifestyle on the wage.

Decent Starter Job
Fan Captain (Former Employee) - Lloydminster, AB - 6 March 2023
The workplace culture was terrible, and many employees quit because of it. The pay was quite good. They didn't allow for a good work-life balance and expected you to work a lot of hours, which made hindered my studies.
Pros
Lots of hours, good pay
Cons
Poor work culture, work - life balance

basically highschool
Shift Leader (Former Employee) - Campbell River, BC - 3 March 2023
The jobs are good but it's a very gossipy place. The managers are the worst for it. If you keep to yourself and do your work you'll be fine. I found the icecream/cake side of things pretty fun/artsy.
Pros
discounted food, consistent hours
Cons
gossip

Honestly bad.
Runner (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 23 February 2023
They watched a funeral one time during store hours and played it out loud.. and the managers were petty towards the employees and if they didn’t like you it wasn’t hard to tell because they were aggressive towards the people they didn’t like. You aren’t even aloud free food/ drink and you don’t get breaks.
Cons
never got a break, no free lunches, horrible management

Good first time job
Manager (Current Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 14 February 2023
Overall an ok place to work. Good for students or as a first time job for someone looking for the experience. You get 50% off a meal while on shift so that’s a bonus! Most shifts are evening shifts. Not all that great for someone who’s got a family at home. No benefits.
Pros
50% off meals on shift
Cons
No benefits, mostly night shifts

Bad management
Team Member (Current Employee) - Nanaimo, BC - 13 February 2023
My Co-workers are great but management is poor. Most of the equipment in the restaurant is broken and has been broken for years. I almost never receive my checks on time.
Cons
Irregular Pay periods

Toxic place to work
Food service supervisor (Former Employee) - Swift Current, SK - 19 January 2023
This is the worst place for anyone to work. Management are users, they don't care about employees. The pay is really low, you get to work almost everyday with low hours and you get sent home because it's not busy.
Pros
50 percent off lunches
Cons
Short notice schedule, low pay

One of the best jobs I had
Cook/Cashier (Former Employee) - Cornwall, ON - 19 January 2023
Would happily work there again. When I got hurt they were extremely accommodating and often checked in on me. When I did return to work they would make sure I was still ok. Raises came every few months based on work effort. Love you guys.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
You'll want to eat all the time
