Great Company to Work For
CWD is a great company that promotes employee advancement within the company and continuous learning. There is a lot of growth opportunities and investment on employees to grow their skills through classes. Corporate culture is awesome, I found all employees I worked with and got to know to be very kind and helpful. Company overall has a lot of corporate gatherings and events. CWD is very transparant with their employees about what's going on within the business and clearly details department goals and results for everyone. I really enjoyed my time at CWD, especially having great bosses that were very available to me if I needed anything but allowed me to have control and leeway over the work I did.

This company is a joke!! - Stay away
This company is really bad, and they play games during the interview process. They post there 10 step process, which is crazy and unrealistic. Run away from these guys and don't waste your time.

Thank God I had a work contract
I'm so happy I was able to leave CWD when I did, luckily I was hired on full time in order to complete my co-op for school (which it did allow me to do) but by the end of my contract I was more than ready to leave. The 'Board of Directors' (basically two elderly parents who can't seem to keep out of the way enough to actually allow things to run smoothly, and then two brothers who can't ever agree on anything, and are pretentious and rude) can't ever seem to make anything happen properly, and when they do give the greenlight for things (after wasting time with bureaucracy) they never pan out because funding is either not enough or one of the brothers changes their mind on a whim. Even when presented with very researched industry data these brothers (neither of whom have a business degree) refuse to listen to anyone but themselves. Their department heads must be 100% loyal to the owning family, or else you'd never be able to stay with the company for very long. Each department head is like a snake in the room, always ready to sell you out for their own gain, and always ready to pass the blame onto someone else for their own shortcomings. Working under the brother that deals with Levana (etc) I recognized he created a very stressful, anxious, and sexist work environment (how many female personal assistants did he go through that were more than qualified but somehow never good enough for him?) They also have no loyalty to their employees. One man who'd be working for the company for many many years didn't even have paid sick days until the province forced them to get it to him. (I'm talking he'd been with them from the beginning) If you see a contract for this company and can stomach a terrible work environment for a few months to gain money or experience than do so (be aware; to cover their own tracks and be even worse employers, they refuse to give references to ANYONE).

Warning: This Company is Not What it Seems
Stay far away from this company! If the interview process doesnt give you a red flag, take it from someone who stayed for a few years that this job sucked the life out of me and some of the people around me. Guaranteed if you ask people at this company if they are truly happy with they're positions, they would say no and that they are just waiting for a different opportunity so they can leave. People only stay here because the market is tough and there isnt many other options in the Niagara Region that is in the consumer electronics market. Tips for Management: 1. Your employees are adults. 2. The role of management isnt to control people, it's to grow great teams. (This is where things go wrong here) This job may be good for shortterm, but this is not a place you stay.
