Great place to learn

Overall good, it's a good place to learn and a good place to move globally. It's a global organisation with the chance of moving to other countries as well.

Intense working environment, but intellectually stimulating

Ownership and accountability can be improved. Long working hours. Certain business divisions need more people resources to work effectively. Intellectually stimulating with many complex business problems to solve.

Nice Place to work

Nice place to work but salary is lesser in comparison to the peers. Decent work life balance. It all depends on which department and teams you are working for.

Productive and enjoyable workplace

Daily routine: - Checked calendar for scheduled meetings and events. - Ensured all board rooms in excellent condition: cleaned from previous day and prepared for today's meetings. - Answered phones, directed calls, and greeted clients. - Made any necessary catering orders and received orders as they arrived. - Set up board rooms for lunch meetings. conference calls, and other events. I learned how to schedule international conference calls in up to 5 different time zones. Management team were great to work with and appreciated your efforts to do an excellent job. I did not find job hard, excepting times when there were several back-to-back meeting, and I had to rush to ensure rooms were absolutely ready before guests arrived - with a large lunch meeting, clean up could take some time. I generally enjoyed the position and the people I worked with.

Pros

Great environment, and sometimes free lunch

Cons

Temporary position through agency

Excellent Global brand in the financial services industry

Credit Suisse Canada provides Canadian financial landscape with an excellent brand from the global banks. Unlike the big five, global banks provide an excellent alternative to a subset of client base in the Canadian market.

Great Culture, Terrible Management

The people at Credit Suisse are friendly and professional, but the amount of outsourcing and restructuring at CS is inexcusable. Even the most entry level positions can have 5 layers of outsourcing. Meaning if any issues arise they become stuck in the system and people are more likely to quit out of frustration than wait out the bureaucratic stalemates.

Great learning experience

Being an intern isn't always fun, but working with a team of interns as Credit Suisse in Beirut was an unforgettable experience. We learned a lot about how the financial markets function and how to hedge against volatility. We went on to build model portfolios and presented them to the seniors of the division, who are great mentors who want to make sure that you leave the program armed with new information and knowledge.
