I have worked most departments and each one is a great learning experience. Some new hires quit too quickly before finding the versatility and openness for advancement. Get your foot in the door and there will be opportunity. As a matter of opinion, when you meet all the warehouse staff in each department (usually in the lunch room) you make some great friends.
Costco is a good place to work and learn. But at Costco location in Langley, BC. Some of the people make it worst. Specially Pharmacy Manager she is so unexperienced and do not know how to run the things and because of this the senior people are not cooperative at all with new employees. They dont like new people to work. I dont know about other costco locations but the one in langley BC dont joint this one if you are pharmacy professionals.
Too much office politics, if the Pharmacy manager does not like you she will schedule you with less hours and she is only nice to the people she like, some of the staffs were afraid to speak in her presence. During work hours Pharmacy Manager talks continuously non stop, it is very distracting for others, she always gossips of employees to others employees not professional at all and there is no confidentiality and professionalism on her part and there is lot more in regards to her behavior, higher management need to pay more attention to employees well being. Above all, lots of bulling of new staffs, this need to be stopped. I hope higher management will monitor and makes this place a better place to work, I hope some of the current employees will come forward with their concerns.
Costco as a company is good
Too much bulling of new and old staffs
We would quote 2-3 hour wait times, the customers were very unhappy and sometimes aggressive. As a part-time employee you're only guaranteed 25 hours per week but are expected to be available as if you were working a full time job, you have to work 5 days per week, even if its only 5 hour work days, which you cannot live on. Benefits are awesome, but not worth the stress....
ndeed is on the ascendant: lots of growth, lots of cool new projects, tons of interesting work and opportunity. The challenge of that, is that growth means lots of people are new, and lots of things don't have a clear process yet, and we're being a bit messy and scrambling. But that's part of the fun, if you look at it the right way
Costco is a good place to work, but it is very hard to get fulltime in this company. You have to work weekends if you are partime.Pay and benefits are good for partime and fulltime employees.
good pay and benefits
hard to get fulltime
