Great Job, Morning Shift is hard on social life though

16/hour base pay is crazy good. The pay and opportunity for raises are all incredible. That aspect of the job is amazing. As a morning mech stocker (3:15am-9:45am shift), the work life balance is extremely hard to manage. Your friends will be getting off work at 5 when you are going to bed. The managers are all very friendly and everyone is fun to be around at 4am, which is very rare. Overall it is a great opportunity if you don't mind your social life suffering.

Great company, terrible location.

Costco is amazing as a whole. However, this location is terrible. The GM was great, however half of upper management are hateful and will talk about you behind your back, consistently. Pays great. Customer facing role that is fun, just beware of management.

Pros

Pay, occasional free lunch, nice coworkers

Cons

Managers, varying schedule, no privacy for your own life (everyone is extremely nosy.

Good people

Good people, slow movement to advance. Set work schedule hard to change. Not a lot of opportunity to move up. Breaks were very short. Lot of rules to follow.

Probably the best it gets for retail/grocery but it's still retail/grocery

Good benefits, very clear payscale and raise schedule that leads to above average pay for the position. Good job security and variety of positions to transfer to within company.Cons are workload can be unmanageable at times and shift priority decided by seniority. Great for when you've been there 20 years, bad when you're coming into the company because those people aren't leaving. So scheduling can be inconsistent as the needs of business out prioritize any set schedule you may need.

Pros

Pay. Benefits.

Cons

Scheduling. Workload

Well rewarded hard work

The work is demanding, but the salary and benefits are unmatched in the industry. Managers are overworked and sometimes it shows through their attitudes. Must have a string A type personality to succeed as a supervisor offer manger. Good news is, you can make a decent living just being an hourly slug!

You will work hard for your money

The pay can be good for what it is, but you will work hard. If you put the time in, though, eventually your pay will go up with automatic increases every 1040 hours for the first few years.

Fast paced, but fun overall.

Awesome place to work. Management will depend on the location, and hours will depend on seniority. However, when it comes to employee treatment from upper management, it’s awesome. During covid, it took awhile for my warehouse to catch on, but when it did, things went smoother. No days are easy, be prepared to work. But if that work gets done, the day is usually pretty joyful.

Pros

Sunday pay. Amazing experience.

Cons

Sometimes management, other times you just don’t get enough hours.

Easy, high-paying job

Good part-time job to get if you're looking for something easy and pays high. Fast-paced and fun work environment with good people. Good amount of breaks depending on the number of hours you work. Most of the time i worked 5 hours and sometimes i'd work 8 hours.

Pros

high pay, bonus pay on Sundays, good people, small work environment so you don't have to worry too much about walking around everywhere

Cons

didn't really get a say on my schedule. i was basically assigned whatever the manager wanted

Great company, bad management

Has favoritism, one sided management. When it comes to promotions, not everyone is given a fair chance. The warehouse manager doesn’t care for employees well being or trying to fix issues- only temporary fix.

Pros

Extra covid pay, steady schedule, great benefits

Cons

Bad management

Productive workplace with lots of micromanagement

Overall, a great job when you factor in the hours they’re willing to give you, the pay and benefits they offer, and most of the people you work with. However, there are many times when you’d be told to do one thing by one supervisor and turn around and get asked what you were doing by another like you’re off doing something for yourself. Another thing is “fairness.” You can be told you’re doing a great job, but the minute they see one person they don’t deem as productive, they will give everybody (cart guys) a coaching and even bring up that you were doing a great job, but they have to be fair and give the coaching to everybody like it’s fair to give somebody doing a great job the same speed bump as someone who wasn’t.

They do give people chances to start out with but are quickly lost.

A typical day would include clocking in on time at the clock-in machine. You get a grace period of 4min. Then you go to your designated area of the warehouse. Each department is run by different managers and different budgets. I learned how to smile for a long time and walk a lot. I learned how good the benefits are capable of being. Management was not as good. They want you to be scared of them. Workplace culture was nice, you make friends. The hardest part of the job was living up to the expectations they have for workers. The most enjoyable part of the job was the paycheck and perks.

Pros

executive membership, benefits, pay

Cons

management, workload

Great pay & benefits for what it is

Costco was a great place to work if you just need a retail job. The pay is great for what you're doing, the benefits are amazing and the people were decent. A lot better atmosphere than most grocery stores because the customers pay to be in the store.

Pros

Health care, vision, ect

Cons

Management can be rude and unhelpful
