Great company to work for!
Private Investigator (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 13 April 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedCSS is the best company I worked for! If you are fortunate to be hired for a Private Investigator with them, you are in good hands. Great pay, lodging is paid for, daily meals are covered. Best company to work for, hands down!

Run
Cook (Former Employee) - Sudbury, ON - 7 July 2021
The company and management were extremely unorganized. They put us up in hotels and would organize meetings via email and would change times without follow up emails. When we were finally placed on site for a strike, the rooms were old offices and the accommodations were extremely poor. Cots, a blanket, and you were lucky to get a pillow. Pay was shorted, management didn't care about the employees and lied in the contracts about days off and the amount of hours to be worked. People were let go (fired) mid dinner service, and escorted from property with little reason given. This is not a good company to work for!!!
Pros
Overtime
Cons
Everything

Good pay. Bad experience.
Security Guard (Former Employee) - Sudbury, North, ON - 22 May 2021
This company uses people for brief periods of time. They have you stay in low quality hotels. Management appeared to be rude and abrasive. Honestly the pay is good, however your working 7 days a week 12 hours a day. That's 84 hours a week and you don't know if the job will last a week or a month. The worst part was when I figured out they transport people from all over the poor towns in Ontario and put them in one place. Sound fun? Try working with such a group, under poor management. Management asked us to post positive reviews. If your desperate for a job, I would say stand your ground and accept. Otherwise look somewhere else. Management could easily treat everyone with respect. Not sure why they don't.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Environment

Great first time experience
Private Investigator (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 9 February 2017
I was hired as a private investigator for a labor dispute and was instantly impressed by CSS's level of professionalism. I was not confident going into the job, being relatively new to the position, but quickly found the management went above and beyond to make sure everyone knew exactly what was expected of them. They were superbly organized, kind and fair to every employee that took the job seriously, and paid very well.
Pros
great pay, management and training
Cons
required a great deal of dedication for work that was not guarenteed

After witnessing the level of professionalism exhibited by the administrative staff at Css, my entire group of colleagues nearly had a collective aneurysm just from the sheer shock and utter suprise. Real professionals, real people, realistic and pragmatic leaders, in an overall positive and (1more time with this word) professional atmosphere.
Bravo Css

Unpredictibility that comes with the turf.

Best Company in the Industry...Period!
Operative/Dispatcher (Current Employee) - Various - 7 February 2017
I've been on several gigs with CSS since 2005 and the professionalism, honesty, and integrity that was prevalent then, still remains today.
The training is second to none with one of the best trainers that I've had the opportunity from which to learn. The Coordinators and Supervisors are supportive and helpful as well as the top tier management. From the Company President to Operations Manager right down to the office staff, they are some of the best humans walking the planet, in my opinion. They are approachable and try to accommodate all operatives the best way they can so they can do the job being asked of them with minimal distraction.
CSS knows the industry and they pass that knowledge to all the employees through example and excellent training. They show and tell the right way to do a task and then it's up to the operative to do the job. Everyone is accountable! They expect the professionalism and commitment they give to be reflected back in the employees and they settle for nothing less.
CSS is a " big boy" company and they treat you as such. The work is serious and crucial and CSS has risen to be the best because of the attitude they promote from the top down. It's been a great experience working for the leader in the industry and I have always felt an immense sense of pride to be with the best people in the business too!
Pros
Professionalism, integrity, great training, good pay, excellent people
Cons
Work can be too intermittent

Supervisor (Current Employee) - Various locations - 7 February 2017
CSS is the premier provider of labour dispute (strike) security services that cover the entire range of client needs including security, investigations, evidence gathering, transportation, replacement workers, and much more. The leadership team at CSS is the best in the business at taking care of their employees by making sure excellent training is provided as well as full support in the field. The opportunity for overtime is very attractive as well as the opportunity to work with the best professionals in the industry.
Pros
Lots of OT, expenses covered, training provided
