Debilitating and distressing.
Forestry (Former Employee) - Mackenzie, BC - 11 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The experience in appraisals, and technical work. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Supervisor - quite narcissistic and vindictive towards me, always preventing pleasant social interactions and generally unfairly appraising my work after I made a HR report, leading to a 'performance improvement plan' whichbwas designed to out me legally within the 2 year window after which severance would have to be paid. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Generally hands-off. Lots of chronism and 'old boys' which makes it difficult for an individual not previously connected to have a fair run of it. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Lonely and frightening for me, but that maybnot be the case for you.

Colleagues are supportive and it is a productive place to work. New and exciting projects are on the agenda and your initiatives are always welcome.
Office Manager/Executive Assistant (Current Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 27 April 2022
The transition for me was very smooth. Everything that I needed to perform my job better has been provided without struggling. Working hours are flexible and once I feel a bit unwell my boss allowed me to work from home for a couple of days. It seems like there is plenty of room for career growth and you will excel as you blend into corporate governance.

Excellent working environment
Senior Accounts Payable (Former Employee) - Prince George, BC - 10 April 2021
The team I worked with was fantastic. Knowledgeable, helpful and room to grow if you wanted. I started out as a Accounts Payable Clerk and worked my way up to Senior Acccounts Payable. Professional growth was something they really helped out with. Paying for courses that directly were in your field of work.
Pros
Appointments were paid
Cons
Busy busy

Jobs at Conifex
Fast moving pace with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow
Lumber wrapper/Labourer (Current Employee) - Mackenzie, BC - 8 August 2019
Typical day at work is fast moving, constantly have to keep production going. Learned new equipment related to planer production. Management was always there to help if needed, people enjoy working and the hardest part is when you can not fix a machine quickly. Very much enjoyed the work and getting to know coworkers.

Could be a fun place to work
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Fort St James, BC - 18 June 2019
Market is turning badly for the forestry industry. Conifex had really great people working there and could really feel like family.
Every day is very busy and flies by. I have learned a lot about myself and what I can accomplish while being there. I have learned that I can be a leader. Management can be difficult. Workplace culture is at an all time low. the hardest part of the job is feeling that this place does not have much longer. The most enjoyable part of the job is the people.

Maintenance Supervisor (Former Employee) - Mackenzie, BC - 27 March 2019
I work at the Power Plant and that's a good place to work. You always have individuals that are going to complain about everything, even if it's something they wanted and here is no different, overall it's an easy place to work, just do your job and you wont have any problems.
Pros
Easy work atmosphere, good wages
Cons
some negative attitudes

Poorly managed.
Labourer/Millwright Apprentice (Former Employee) - Mackenzie, BC - 8 February 2018
I worked here for 11 years that I will never get back. Their apprenticeship program is well run and definitely has a good track record. Other than that, management has been in place for too long and is one dimensional.
