This is not a safe place to work. Management team is corrupt at all levels, local to corporate. Lives are lost, conditions are intolerable. For as long as people continue to seek employment here, Compass will continue to disregard its responsibilities.
Compass Minerals is an unsafe work environment with a culture that turns a blind eye to workplace harassment. Management is full of unorganized and bad leaders who favour certain employees over others. Senior employees in the Maintenance Dept. are not willing to properly train new employees. Think twice about taking a job here!
Poor working environment. Workplace harassment is rampant. HR and upper management doesn’t do anything about it. Always hiring the best of the worst. People quitting constantly. Poison environment. The only people who stay are the ones that can’t get a job anywhere else. Very unsafe. Only place I have worked where they had multiple workplace fatalities.
The people you work with daily are great. Managers have no respect for eachother or the employees who work there. No communication within management or to employees. Bullying, fear and intimidation tactics are regularly used to keep employees on edge.
Management at all levels
Until upper management in Goderich have been cleaned out its not the place to send your resume. The place is falling apart, literally, it's an underground mine. Front line supervisors are doing the best they can but seems their hands are tied. If upper management says they will do somethin make sure to gets written down and they sign it.

Do these reviews help you learn more about working at Compass Minerals?
Very busy Schedule with rotating shift work. Starting shift with job assignments for the shift, starting with senior man picking his job. Then proceeding 1800 feet underground. Learning was on going as the environment has many dangers. Shift supervisors are your primary go to bosses and keep very busy ensuring employees are kept safe, are working safe and production is maintained. Co-workers are always ready and willing to assist junior employees, in order to maintain a safe working environment. Hardest part of the job is getting accustomed to working underground at 1800 feet. Most enjoyable part of the job is the constant temperature.
