There’s something better
Things used to be much better pre pandemic. Now management does not care about its employees. They will hire literally anyone since we are short staffed, and long standing employees get no benefit. Managers do not care about their employees. Coordinators are power hungry. Clients are amazing so it’s unfortunate that the other parts of the job suck. Direct Support Professional in Kingston, ON

Horrible place
They don’t even care about the staff and their health. Full politics. Cultural issues among on the staffs. Dominating staffs and they make new staffs to work and they sit and relax . All the rewards and appreciation will goes to staff who doesn’t do nothing in their shiftDirect Support Professional in Kingston, ON

Persons served were wonderful, short staffed constantly
I worked here before the pandemic, which I heard made the staffing shortages even worse. However, I was getting required to stay about 30% of my shifts for a year. Low pay. Persons served and other staff were wonderful. Great resume builder. Community Support Worker in 541 Days Rd UNIT 6, Kingston, ON K7M 3R8

Toxic work environment
You can do better. Work here if you must. I wouldn't recommend it. Do it for your own sanity, and mental health. Community Living Kingston has really poor management. Schedules are probably the worse. When you work here, you will notice that the company has a high turnover. Toxic work environment but most places are these days. Not a forever place
Pros: part timers get benefits. Set up the retirement fund early its helpful. Cons: scheduling sucks unless you're full time which is rare to be given a full time position. Work life balance isn't much of a thing as there's no routine with Scheduling (but they say they're trying to Change that) Staff team- best not to trust people with any information as they will most likely use it against yo...What would you say about your employer?
