COMFORTS OF HOME CARE
COMFORTS OF HOME CARE Employee Review
Not a fun place to work
HCA (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 21 March 2023
This company are not good to their employees and pay a starvation wage. Make you feel like a nobody if they don’t get what they want from you. They do not hear what you communicate to them in a friendly manner at all.
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
Terrible everything

Helpful staff, some nice perks ie Christmas Parties, picnics
Home Care Companion Aide (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 5 January 2016
Helping clients with personal hygiene, dressing, making meals, driving clients to appointments; having conversations; taking them to and doing exercises with them. Learned how to transfer clients from wheelchair to vehicle, couch; that seniors are happier when they are being cared for in their own home. Management was good and always offered a variety of training sessions. Worked on my own. Hardest part not having enough time to write notes before shift ended for some clients. Most enjoyable part of the job was being appreciated for the work you did for them.
Pros
Congenial staff, beautiful office surroundings, Christmas parties and picnics.
Cons
Salary could be higher for work we had to perform, low gas mileage reinbursement.

Great workplace, minimum pay
Ccp (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 14 December 2022
Good company to work for. Definitely not paid enough to make a living. No room for advancements whatsoever. I would recommend this job to someone who is starting out in the field. Great team and HR though!
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
Non-stop broadcast notifications, don’t ever actually get away from work

Good place to start a Healthcare Aide career to get some experience.
Caregiver (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 April 2022
The company tried to instill a "family" culture but paid minimum wage or slightly higher. As far as the work I found that minimal background information was given to caregivers about their prospective clients. You were also expected to use your personal vehicle to transport clients to appointments, shopping trips, etc. Mileage was paid but it was minimal. For the 7 years I worked for Comforts of Home Care I witnessed a constant turnover in caregivers and caregiver supervisors.
