Great workplace, minimum pay
Ccp (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 14 December 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood company to work for. Definitely not paid enough to make a living. No room for advancements whatsoever. I would recommend this job to someone who is starting out in the field. Great team and HR though!
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
Non-stop broadcast notifications, don’t ever actually get away from work

Not a fun place to work
HCA (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 21 March 2023
This company are not good to their employees and pay a starvation wage. Make you feel like a nobody if they don’t get what they want from you. They do not hear what you communicate to them in a friendly manner at all.
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
Terrible everything

Good place to start a Healthcare Aide career to get some experience.
Caregiver (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 April 2022
The company tried to instill a "family" culture but paid minimum wage or slightly higher. As far as the work I found that minimal background information was given to caregivers about their prospective clients. You were also expected to use your personal vehicle to transport clients to appointments, shopping trips, etc. Mileage was paid but it was minimal. For the 7 years I worked for Comforts of Home Care I witnessed a constant turnover in caregivers and caregiver supervisors.

Great for those who wish to pick the amount of work they want
Companion/housecleaner (Current Employee) - Wpg - 4 December 2020
For the most part the assignments have been good. Met lots of interesting new people. Feels great to be able to help others. Sometimes assignments are not fully explained but usually works out okay. The pay is not the greatest but I would recommend working for this company if you are looking for a job that fits your schedule.
Pros
Meet interesting people
Cons
Pay is not the best.

light house keeping (Current Employee) - Marion street - 4 December 2020
Some time it’s hard to get hours for some time they seamed to be Hiring lots of people I would think that they would try to feel the hours first with the staff that they have you’re not a health care aid seems like they get priority on shifts compared to a companion or support worker

Ever since I interviewed with Comforts of Home Care I was beyond excited to start working with them. They set me up with a few wonderful clients already, and the office staff is always on call and ready to help whenever need be! They are very flexible with their shifts, and made sure to work around my already busy schedule. I couldn’t be more thankful to have found this company!

The Booking Coordinators are excellent to communicate with and work with your personal schedule.
Health Care Aide (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 21 November 2020
Great company to work for, caring and understanding. If you are willing to work a variety of hours and days, you can get plenty of hours. As well, they always make sure you and your client are a match. They did have an on-site workout room (before COVID). They have a benefit plan after you reach a number of hours worked per month. I like their Online scheduling and information system which provides information about the client your are working for as well as access to your scheduled hours in the view of a week or day by day. They are also able to broadcast available shifts or communicate information or updates to all staff simultaneously as well as individually to each of us via email and or text.
Pros
Great training/workshops offered.
Cons
Pay is on the lower end

Worse place to work
Health Care Aide (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 7 February 2020
They don't back up there Health Care Aides they hire. They hired a chopper to get rid of the staff for no reason. It's a very cold company to work for. Even the owner's daughter-in-law quit because pushing them to do more with no extra pay.
Turn over in-office staff is unreal. They just push them too do more.

Often stressful work environment with little or no support
Companion (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 15 December 2019
For the work performed with specific clients, pay level is low
Office organization at times problematic - employees do not know who is responsible for what
Not always have proper training for clients sent out for or expectations from clients not what should be performed
Client files not correctly imputed into data file

Very positive place to work
Office Administration (Current Employee) - 262 Marion Street - 26 November 2019
Ever since I started at Comforts of Home - Care, I have felt 'at home!' The team is great to work with and I feel so appreciated. I have lots of support and can go to my supervisor with any questions I have. I love what I do because I know I am supporting seniors in the community who really need our help.
Some days are tough, especially when we have a lot of clients to care for, or when someone passes away.
I love it when we get positive feedback from our clients. Its so rewarding.

Positive workplace with poverty wages and no opportunity for advancement
Caregiver (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 13 November 2019
Management was kind and very nice to work with. The wages however are horrendous, absolute poverty wages. This type of work, in general, is very poorly compensated. This type of work is very important, hard, and poorly compensated. I was hired to be full time and never received full-time hours. It was very hard to get enough hours to be full time and I could not support myself as a single person on my wages. I would not recommend working in this field or for this company if you have other options.

Not the best job
Caregiver/Housekeeper (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 7 November 2019
They were pretty unfair. The wage is to low for the work that you do. The management is not very organized. There is a high turnover of staff. I didn't feel appreciated.

Company is more about money than care
Companion (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 5 November 2017
I began working for comforts of homecare to help others and because their mission seemed in line with mine. After working their for years I am disappointed to say the CEO is more interested in making money than actual care and that is why there is a high turnover rate of staff.
Pros
free training
Cons
you don't feel like you or your clients are of value to the company
