Not a long term career choice
The company has changed over the last couple of years in an unfortunate way. Much more of a corporate feel which in turn, has made it lose it's charm.

The positives are that there are excellent co-workers who are always willing to help each other. There are some incredibly intelligent telecom techs here, who also happen to be fantastic human beings.


The cons are simple. People who have been long accepting less because they believe in a vision, need to finally be compensated fairly. When your people believe in you, you need to reward that. Yet, the opposite has happened. Techs are tasked with more and more and get less and less, despite the companies positive growth. There has been no trickle down to the boots on the ground and there is no affective manager to speak to about anything.


The message was to not be like the big Telco's but the company is becoming exactly like them but with less pay, worse benefits and no retirement plan of any kind.

Excellent company
Combat Networks is unique in this day and age. It is a growing, fast paced and inspiring place to work. A great management team, great knowledgeable people all around, led by an exceptional owner.
Pros
No micro management here, a great place to work.
Cons
Lack of benefits but one cannot have it every way.

Data Networking Engineer
• Configured various Avaya stackable switches with VLANs, QOS mechanisms, IP Routing Protocols ,Multi-Link Trunking, DHCP and WLAN
• Upgraded Ethernet Routing Switch, WLAN and Wireless Management System to the latest version per customer requirement

• Installed network hardware such as switches ,firewalls, routers and wireless controllers

• Coordinated with company’s senior IT staff by installing and troubleshooting company’s Palo Alto firewall

• Co-operated with senior staff on professional services and network designs

• Participated in on-call rotation and provided support throughout the region

• Developed Network solutions based on customer requirement and constraint

• Supported research and development team on various projects by writing Java code

• Dealt with many sales operational activity including RMA for defective units

• Prepared shipping labels, processed receiving packages and kept track of company’s inventory
