- Over work, always need things done yesterday! Expect the impossible. - I learn to have patience, always SMILE even when I have a bad day. - Management has a way to make staffs back stab each others. It's not a good environment to work in. - Only good things comes out of working is the co-workers. Everyone is so friendly, we try to help each other when major problem arrive. - Try to half guess what Management wants? - We all relax when no management in house.


Free breakfast every 2 weeks when we have staff meetings


Work long hours without breaks.

It's a culture of tattlers

The company culture is all about having people tell on each other. There is no good reason for it as there is zero chance of advancement so it's hard to understand the motivation to get your co-workers In trouble. There is an expectation to not take breaks and to work overtime despite their claims of great working conditions. It's a shame as they serve a great purpose, to provide affordable housing for families.

Great team of people who are truly committed to the Co-op Housing Sector

COHO is made up of a fantastic team (both COHO staff as well as the staff of the Housing Central group of companies) who are deeply committed to affordable housing and the co-operative housing sector. By far one of the best workplaces I have been a part of in that regard; coworkers feel like friends and extended family, and have each others' backs. The Board of Directors and Management team are working to create positive, sustainable changes such as upgrading the systems and business processes. There are still a number of gaps and things that need to be address (such as clarity, communication, consistency) but, overall, they have been working on it. The Management Team are knowledgeable and committed to improvement. They are supportive of more inter-company social events, in and out of the office, to help create a cohesive team and culture. When I was there, they were actively trying to get staff feedback to improve areas that need addressing and building on their skills. All the Team Leads are fantastic, and do a wonderful job training and supporting their staff. Unfortunately, as they need to pick up the slack, fill in the gaps, and jump in when there is an issue, they often are overworked as they also have their own client portfolios as well. One major challenge is, given the size of the organization and fact that not all staff work out of the head office, is ensuring everything is communicated to all relevant parties and that all staff feel included and supported. Until new software is in place, processes are still quite Excel- and paper-heavy making it hard - 


Amazing team, great training for coordinators, good benefits package, nice central head office, stable work


Old systems are still in place (currently being upgraded), collaboration generally discouraged, some redundancy and unnecessary stress, staff appreciation efforts could be improved upon, more consistency and clarity needed, reflection needed on staff turnover

COHO was a fun place to work. A professional work environment. Medical Dental Benefits. It is amazing all the talent within this company. If you are having a problem in your job, people seem to come out of the woodwork to help you.

Poor leadership

Do not work here unless you are close to retire. Management always find a way to discourage employees emphasizing mistakes they made. It's all bout their advantage and benefit.. If they want to keep good employees, they need to listen sincerely not pretentiiosly. It is not really a positive work environment.

Stuck in old software, terrible upper management, contant changes, low salary, no advancement
