Favoritsm abound, part time forever, heavy work

Indeed featured review

You'll be at the whims of sales reps, they dictate what you do and how much you work and rarely do they ever assist you. Bonuses are only for sales reps, you'll be the one working hard to achieve the sales reps goals. Merchandisers don't see a penny of that. You'll stay part time unless you somehow get promoted to sales. The work is extremely heavy at times. The pay was "okay", so was the mileage reimbursement. Management is awesome.

Pros

Work life balance, management

Cons

Heavy, favoritsm, no benefits, sales reps, car wear and tear

Good for independant workers

If you're in need of work its not the worst. It depends on the route youre assigned too. Some are insanely heavy from salepeople over ordering. Some are managed great. Ralely do they promote from within so dont get your hopes up. Try not to get hurt as well, it doesnt seem too physical at first but the days add up. If you can stay on top of your stores and build a good reputation with the managers you can have an enjoyable time at Coca Cola.

Part time merchandiser has no support

Only merchandising positions in Coke are part time but I worked full time hours. No benefits at all.I worked for over two years trying to move up to sales positions while watching new hires move ahead of me.They focus their appreciation on the sales team and not the merchandisers. The amount of physical work I had to do with no incentives was not worth it any longer. Very physical work, full time hours, part time pay and no health benefits or vacation days to recover from injuries is not a good work environment.

Pros

No pros

Cons

"Be less white" is one example of how they treat employees.

Nice place to work but hard work

Solid gig to get your foot in the door. Decent pay at $18.25 an hour. But it's hard work. Wear and tear on your own vehicle as well which sucks. Full time hours available though

Its not what you think it is...

I work as a Merchandiser out of London Ontario and have been employed since The end of 2021. A couple things you should know before applying...The ONLY reason I stay and do what I do is because of my manager. Great guy.The pay is so/so Work life balance is not really there, and it is difficult to give an answer to wether or not it exists. As a merchandiser, it is 100% Physical labour, and not easy labour. You never have a set schedule, and only go home when the job is complete, depending on how fast you work, it could be 6 hours, 8 hours, some days even 12 hours. You move hundreds of cases of pop per day along with heavy 2L's consecutively, and a bunch of other coca-cola branded products off pre-delivered pallets at different stores around SWO, starting as early as 7am.Money:the pay is not horrible but dont expect to make a killing. At roughly $18.50 per hour, you do an incredible amount of expected work (even worse during the holidays and early summer) that makes this not worth it, even with rising gas prices and nearly $0.55/Km reimbursement.Work/Culture/Time:If you're looking for long term, this company has growth but don't expect to grow too quickly. Unfortunately, a company like this will hire you PT with Full time hours so enjoy no benefits for a while. For example, you can easily work for a company like Cintas, get paid in the mid $20/hour's and have a 4 day work week with weekend off and the culture will be much better, along with work/life balance. Since your schedule will be set along a specific route and you'll know where and when it ends.Overall, Its -

I enjoyed working for a national brand

I enjoyed working for Coca-Cola as the face of the company. I liked doing the work that made the products available to the customers. It felt good to organize the product to look presentable

Do not work here

This is the worst job of all time. Horrible management, horrible job, incredibly underpaid...only benefit is you can pick your hours. Highly wouldn’t recommend. Management is terrible, cannot emphasize this enough

Terrible management and atmosphere

Terrible place to work. Left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing. Completely negative atmosphere. Worst job I've had and I absolutely do not recommend.

Pros

Paycheck

Cons

Do not value People.

Stressful

The communication aspect is horrible. The job can be physically challenging on your body. Mgmt will belittle you if you can’t complete your day. Forget about a work/life balance because when you go home, you’ll be exhausted.

Fast-paced Job

typical day as merchandiser would be going to 3 to 4 stores a day and working the Coca Cola products load to shelves and their displays. Some store managers ask you to build a display according to their way. Each day can be different. Some days heavy and some days light

Pros

Pay not bad

Cons

Stressful, fast-paced, some rude store managers

It’s awful so pathetic and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone unless your desperate

Such a bad job and working environment they make you work alone and never are pleased with the work you do also you have like a ton of stores to do every shift and have to do all of them alone then no matter how long or how little you work they are never pleased always complaining about something even if you didn’t do it plus they expect you to pickup shifts with the like no notice that is like over an hour away from where you live

Pros

No supervision

Cons

Hard work and little pay you work way to much for the amount ur paid it’s a rip off

it's a paycheck

If it weren't for my direct manager I would have left long ago, it's heavy work and long days as nobody really works as a team so you're left to clean up a mess almost every shift. Compensation is a little light considering the toll you physically put on your body between stress and labor as competitors are offering an extra $2 hourly to startall in all it's steady work and you can always get hours, its just a lot of work for what feels like very minimal payoff

Pros

- Great manager - friendly environment - little to no supervision

Cons

- Long hours - High stress -exhausting work

Perpetual lifting

You need to be in good shape to work in the warehouse or merchandising at stores. It's non stop. Warehouse pays more but you have to deal with the attitudes of a lot of frustrated people under stress. Pick your poison.

Bad pay and over worked

You will work solo 90% of the time and get 4 to 5 stores a day and yelled at when you work 12 hrs and still cant completely do it to how each stores likes when each store has delivery of 6 to 12+ full pallets for you to work alone. The job has no benefits and only pays $16 an hour where Pepsi dose the same job for $21 and literally half the work. management is horrible and only really contacts you to give negative feedback or excuses when you ask for help with a large day. Very high turn over rate met a lot of great and nice people who quit on the spot or over night due to poor work conditions and treatment.

Pros

N/a

Cons

Long hours/ no full time/ no benefits/ horrible management/ low pay

Terrible Barrie To North Bay Management. Bad pay. Rude bosses.

Do NOT work here especially as a merchandiser. You will be treated terrible and the pay does not match the amount of work you do. They expect you to work yourself to the bone and if any detail is slightly off they will get angry with you even tho the pay is basically minimum wage. Trust me there are other jobs out there that will be much easier and pay better. This job says there is room to advance but there’s not. It’s a terrible job and if you ignore my advice and take it anyways you will soon agree with me

Pros

Driving.

Cons

All of the above.

Pros

Not a ton of supervision

Cons

No training, terrible management, low pay, unpaid overtime, non reliable hours. Back braking work, unrealistic work load that if you don’t finish in time they will ye all at you

Great if you like driving

Overall a good place to work, lots of driving. Orders can vary from huge to small, everyday is a little different, get to work alone. Be ready to lift a lot and move a lot, very easy to injury yourself at this job.

Pros

Work alone, paid mileage, benefits

Cons

Labour intensive, driving, angry managers

Worse place

Really bad environment to work for, merchandiser supervisor will throw you under the bus at any moment. They are about company profits. Never provide the tools for the job, Never satisfied. Any concern you have you better just keep it to yourself it seems like it goes to deafs ears if you share any concern.

Pros

None

Cons

No commmuncation

Very high expectations

2 years of working with coca-cola and it was really bad!! Sale reps always had a problem with stores and displays, could never make coke happy with any work I did, and team wasnt much of a "team" more of a blame game going on.. all in all do NOT work for coke if you are not absolutly perfect with you work.. and I mean 100% not 95%

Pros

Milage

Cons

Everything else

Toxic atmosphere

The merchandising lead for the province was wonderful but it dropped off from there. A lot of drama of certain employees blaming their own shortcomings on others and no set schedule made trying to coordinate personal plans very hard

Pros

Management, mileage

Cons

Strenuous work, scheduling, environment
