Great place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Great people, lots of long-time employees. Clear expectations of job requirements. Management listens to staff. Culture of inclusion. Hardest part of job is difficult convo's with customers. (grocery stores always want more free labour). Best part of job is the flexibility in my day and work/life balance.

Pros

great work/life balance

Cons

cranky customers

No work life balance

Provide good training and support when needed, not expecting everyone to know things right away. Simple process but they make so extreme which is not needed

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Long hours, Dealing with grumpy grocery people

Union is strong but can be worked with

I was there a short time but I enjoyed it. Well organized and well staffed. Great support from my manager and working with the union was actually good. They understood what had to be done and helped hold their members accountable.

Pros

Great management

Cons

It was in Brampton

Not a great place to work

The afternoon manager was not knowledgeable enough for the position. Lack of training was given me. Too much expectations for the staff to succeed so most did not care about the job.

Fast & Challenging - Prepare for Limited Work-Life Balance

If you work hard, show dedication, and strive to continuously improve yourself and those around you, you will be successful and open endless advancement or cross-promotion opportunities. Management is often fast to recognize leaders and offer further development.Field sales is competitive, and performance is often recognized and rewarded fairly. Along with working for a tier 1 company, there are lots of extra bonuses that you have access to: Events, Brand teams, Head Office exposure, opportunities to develop connections across industries, etc. Don't expect to be given anything, it needs to be earned.Unfortunately, most of these niceties are outweighed by the companies need to eliminate work-life balance. As you progress, the expectation (although not written) is that you will be constantly available. This is not a great place to work if you are looking for a 9-5 with Sat/Sun for refreshing and recuperating. This mindset is especially prominent on the sales side. You cannot "coast" in this environment and last long. Hanging up your work phone for a day is not an option, regardless if it's a long weekend or holiday. The salary for mid-level sales/sales management positions is well below the industry average. Benefits and bonuses have also been scaled back over the the years. In an industry that is relatively flat, don't bank on receiving maximum quarterly bonuses consistently. At the very least, good performance will net you a yearly cost of living increase based on a semi-annual and annual performance review.

Pros

Overall the people are generally great, opportunities for advancement if you're identified as "Hi-Po", Access to events and brands

Cons

No work life balance, pay well below industry avg.

Order Picker / Meat Grinder

When you apply for this "Forklift-driver, Part time" job, just be aware that this has nothing to do with driving a forklift and it isn't a part time job. You're an Order-Picker and you're "on-call", You will be standing on a motorized pallet truck stacking product on pallets, usually up to 1,000 to 1,500 pieces per shift. This is literally a back-breaking job. It's a grind. The hours aren't guaranteed or consistent. Every morning you wait by the phone to see if they need you. You might not work at all for weeks or months at a time but around Christmas and during the summer months, when it's busy they'll expect you to work until the orders are processed, which might mean you're working 10 to 14 hour shifts and five or six days per week. Most people have back, shoulder and knee problems by the time they are forty. The pay is great, $24/hr for part time and $30/hr if you can wait for someone to retire and inch up the seniority list.

Pros

Good Pay

Cons

On Call, Long Hours.

Bad pay and over worked

You will work solo 90% of the time and get 4 to 5 stores a day and yelled at when you work 12 hrs and still cant completely do it to how each stores likes when each store has delivery of 6 to 12+ full pallets for you to work alone. The job has no benefits and only pays $16 an hour where Pepsi dose the same job for $21 and literally half the work. management is horrible and only really contacts you to give negative feedback or excuses when you ask for help with a large day. Very high turn over rate met a lot of great and nice people who quit on the spot or over night due to poor work conditions and treatment.

Pros

N/a

Cons

Long hours/ no full time/ no benefits/ horrible management/ low pay

Terrible Barrie To North Bay Management. Bad pay. Rude bosses.

Do NOT work here especially as a merchandiser. You will be treated terrible and the pay does not match the amount of work you do. They expect you to work yourself to the bone and if any detail is slightly off they will get angry with you even tho the pay is basically minimum wage. Trust me there are other jobs out there that will be much easier and pay better. This job says there is room to advance but there’s not. It’s a terrible job and if you ignore my advice and take it anyways you will soon agree with me

Pros

Driving.

Cons

All of the above.

Don’t do it

Pros

Not a ton of supervision

Cons

No training, terrible management, low pay, unpaid overtime, non reliable hours. Back braking work, unrealistic work load that if you don’t finish in time they will ye all at you

It can be a very productive place

I don’t know what to say it’s a great place to work but if you are at the bottom of the seniority list it can be challenging but management will give you tools to get it done

Pros

Yes free lunch sometime

Cons

No long hour

Overall a good place to work, lots of driving. Orders can vary from huge to small, everyday is a little different, get to work alone. Be ready to lift a lot and move a lot, very easy to injury yourself at this job.

Pros

Work alone, paid mileage, benefits

Cons

Labour intensive, driving, angry managers

Just a number

working at the call centre is will do immense damage on your mental health. Managers are horrible and not one good one at the call centre. They are either racist, or only help people of the same culture as them. Management always looks for faults and errors and never appreciates your hard work or never compliments a job well done. All they focus on is the negative. Imagine a survey went out and the result were that employees feeling burnt out and getting anxiety over quality. Instead of making it better, they made it harder. Imagine dealing with:- quality who always finds a reason to fail your calls e.g if you do not say the customer's name in the beginning of the call or if your tone is not upbeat. Some of them are heartless and will fail 90% of the calls marked. No matter how good you are, they will find faults or a reason to fail. Not to mention, these very same quality agents were horrible at their job taking back to back calls but delights in failing us. Your job depends on quality and sales ( another headache) hence the reason for high turnover rates and employees going on stress leave.

Pros

good benefits

Cons

bad treatment and just a number

Worse place

Really bad environment to work for, merchandiser supervisor will throw you under the bus at any moment. They are about company profits. Never provide the tools for the job, Never satisfied. Any concern you have you better just keep it to yourself it seems like it goes to deafs ears if you share any concern.

Pros

None

Cons

No commmuncation

Very high expectations

2 years of working with coca-cola and it was really bad!! Sale reps always had a problem with stores and displays, could never make coke happy with any work I did, and team wasnt much of a "team" more of a blame game going on.. all in all do NOT work for coke if you are not absolutly perfect with you work.. and I mean 100% not 95%

Pros

Milage

Cons

Everything else

Good Owners and Great Management

Pros

Free Swag

Cons

long hours

Good place to work if you can work in chaos. Supervisors do not posess the knowledge to support staff effectively

If you can find another job go for that instead, but if you're really desperate try and get in. Depending on what you're looking for maybe easier than you think! If you don't have any criminal records in your past what so ever.

Pros

Free soft drinks, clothing, pay is ok for not a high level of skill, credentials are not checked.

Cons

Long hours, people don't speak English at a general level of education(including management team, favouritism for certain workers/groups, lack of training for all)

Toxic atmosphere

The merchandising lead for the province was wonderful but it dropped off from there. A lot of drama of certain employees blaming their own shortcomings on others and no set schedule made trying to coordinate personal plans very hard

Pros

Management, mileage

Cons

Strenuous work, scheduling, environment

stressful and non-personable

Management and supervisors are unorganized, contradicting and closed minded. The staff are over worked and completely neglected. Don't work for coke.

Pros

It's a union job

Cons

employee treatment

Shady place

Poorly managed company, supervisors and manager. Tell you very little, and expect you to figure it out on your own! Staff works for themselves and will throw others under the bus. Union is a joke that is suppose to protect the staff

Pros

Free drinks

Cons

Shady supervisors and managers
