Results orientated company. Self motivation was needed as one was expected to fulfill daily production hours

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Fast paced results orientated atmosphere. Management was there to help if need, although IT was problematic in relaying and helping with new technology.

Excessive Workload

Less training, excessive workload. No support from management. They want people to handle escalations for them. If you ask any questions redirected to peers from management

Stressfull

I do not enjoy working here in ECS. It is very stressful, they do not staff enough employees, management is pretty much useless and incompetent. Pay is way low and benefits are laughable.

More work for less pay

Claimspro will apply constant pressure to do more for less. Independent adjusters are paid by points of an hour, for example .1 to write a 2 page email. If that is not bad enough many things are expected to be done for free. If applying for a job ask about bottom line billing. Time you enter is taken back and you are required to work for free. Mileage compensation for required use of vehicle does not cover cost. Education is not rewarded. This company markets itself as a tech based company but uses bottom line dell computers and replace the phone only every 3 years. The company keeps 56%-70% of the fee you earn. They keep 33% of the mileage fee. No one covers your claims while on holiday so anything over one week off at a time is unrealistic. Can wait over 6 months to be paid for work performed. Not covered by emoyment standards or Canada Labour code. Do you research before taking a job with this company.

I am a level 2 insurance adjuster that has been in the industry for approximately a decade.

In my experience management and leadership only care about the adjusters hitting KPI's and implementing one-size-fits-all policies that make things easier for management and more difficult for adjusters and admin. They are becoming the Walmart of the adjusting world, buying up smaller firms and making the employees feel like they will be part of a thriving team that supports each other and uses industry leading technology to support their adjusters. In reality, as an adjuster, I have been made to feel like I am just a number and management only cares about KPI's and meeting targets with no real support offered. Have a broken chair and need a new one? Too bad, pay for it yourself. Need to submit a $10 meal receipt from an out of town lunch? You will need to go through a daunting reimbursement process followed by approval from multiple managers. ClaimsPro continues to implement guidelines and processes that make the adjusters job more difficult than it should be with no consideration for what the adjusters want and need. I don't know of one person working on the admin side that is happy with the company. I had to sign a contract to work from Claimspro which has a stipulation that they can basically implement any policy they want at any time and you must abide or risk being terminated. And yes, they do implement ridiculous policies that make no sense and use them for their benefit. Don't be surprised if you are supposed to be paid an auto allowance and then they decide to cut that in half out of nowhere because things are slow for the company.

Pros

Work with some good adjusters

Cons

Poor management, no care or consideration from management or President, do what they say when they say it or you will lose in the end.

Management only concerned about their balance sheet.

It is only good for one to step into the industry. Even then most of the learnings are self discovered. They don’t have the time to train.Once you have honed up your skills, take a leap to a better managed company. There is no future.

Pros

None.

Cons

Stay away

At first I was very happy when I started working their until the real work culture started to emerge. Managers and supervisors are very cold and not helpful they stay in their offices all day or night. A staff member is pure number they have no interest at all in the staff well being orProgress. They only care about not paying additional cents. Payroll always messed up/underpaid our overtime and unless you check to discover this your right is lost. Increments are pathetic. They prefer staff to leave than to give an increase. Then they get cheaper one. It is a shame really. I cannot think of any single food point about working there.

Expect to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends to hit your targets. Accept and internalize the unwritten "sundown rule" for returning voicemails and emails. Expect abuse from customers, condescension from clients, and apathy from the executive team. Expect client guidelines and insurance policies to be 5+ years old and thus no longer applicable.Expect account managers who cannot perform basic computer functions, and often don't fully grasp insurance or civil procedures. Expect these people to call in a panic on a bi-weekly basis because they've received a complaint and haven't bother reading through a file or understanding what the issue is.Expect taking responsibility for these same people's ignorance and mistakes. Expect them to praise you to your face and call you indispensible while they insult you behind your back to your colleagues. Expect all of this as well as extreme pressure to produce billable hours.Don't bother working here unless you get guaranteed 100% work from home. There is no real company culture here, except apathy. Pre-pandemic the office was like a morgue except the dead bodies were sitting at computers. I can't imagine it'll be much different post pandemic for those left who are dragged back in.Everyone who joins gets their designations as soon as possible and immediately plans their exit strategy. All of the above being said, the claims system is quite good. The company does invest in its technology at least. The tools you get are sharp, and when you're left alone (working from home) you can get alot done. However, expect to be Interrupted -

Pros

You are paid, but it's not great. Insurance courses are covered. Limited benefits. Work from home..

Cons

Long long long hours due to inexplicably ever increasing targets, Inexperienced and under-educated supervisors, The executive team only offers real pay raises AFTER employees submit their two weeks notice, less than market average pay

Workload not manageable

They want the adjusters to have at least the 4 mandatory CIP courses, then you must continue to school however regardless of the amount you have you’re still being paid way below the industry rates. There is no leadership or management available at any time, the amount of claims given per day is extremely high. There is a high turn around. They then expect you to continue billing hours at night and weekends

Terrible management, including HR. Overall toxic environment. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!

DO NOT WORK HERE !!!! Too much micro managing for no reason. They need to know when you are leaving your desk and why (including washroom breaks.) Mind you, they can see your status from their own computer, so really, there’s no need to request such a thing from their employees... Specially when call volume is low. No one keeps track of your productivity or areas that need improvement, but instead keeps track of your whereabouts. It’s all about an excessive need for power and control over their employees. If you are unavailable for more than 30 seconds to complete your case notes; you get questioned, every single day, even though your reason remains the same. This company does not comply with basic law and ethical practices. They will do what they can to save a dollar at the cost of the representative’s disposability. Supervisors are impatient and lack basic people skills. They are rude and make you feel like less of a person. Supervisors and managers don’t communicate with each other, which causes confusion between CSR and supervisors. Management and Human Resources do not take the issues you are bringing to the table seriously, instead, they view you as problematic. Management doesn’t even have the professionalism required to answer your questions/emails. No one takes into consideration your learning style, and most importantly they do not offer accommodations as required. In their description they assure you that they welcome people with disabilities. Do not be fooled! That is a complete lie. They do not provide any positive feedback, only negative. Pay rate for bilinguals -

Pros

Work from home due to COVID-19

Cons

Poor management

Extremely unpleasant work environment. The staff were wonderful, but the number of people who resigned because of the aggresive management style displayed should definitely have been looked into long ago. No one wants to speak out for fear of retaliation and the extremes this manager will go to in order to pay you back are beyond reasonable. Trying to book vacation is truly a nightmare and a constant battle if you even want to take two weeks together. Phone calls to Admin staff on weekends was not unheard of. No extra pay, only time off...and then only at this managers discretion. This manager has no integrity what so ever and is incapable of keeping staff members personal problems confidential. A psychological analysis to determine if this person was fit to manage personnel would surely come up lacking. I would STRONGLY suggest anyone who is considering a position with this office, think twice about it!!

Pros

The few employees remaining are wonderful to deal with

Cons

Unquestionably the worst manager I have ever worked fot

Unfortunately, the senior management do not care about their employees.

A high staff turnover, salary is not competitive with the marketplace and does not offer work life balance. This company does not offer a company pension and benefits are paid by the employee.

Horrible Independent Adjusting firm

It is a good place to start in the industry and gain experience from an independent adjuster, but you need to move on at the end of the day. Due to the unforeseen event, I was among other staff who got laid off. It is almost my second anniversary at ClaimsPro. I thought when they meant temporarily laid off means an 8 to 10 weeks max. However, the company decided to lay off me for 35 weeks. I submitted my performance review last year before the Christmas break and hoping to get a performance review by my manager sometime after the holidays, it never happened. I worked super hard as an administrative assistant for the National account. I strived to become an adjuster by enrolling in the CIP courses every four months. Yes, they pay for continuing education (my CIP courses). There was no ability to work from home until the pandemic occurred. Benefits and salaries are moderate, and there is no bonus, profit sharing. I only got a salary increase after six months, but it was less than 2%, which is nothing, especially after a profitable year. They don't give an incentive to employees for a good year's work. I would not recommend it at all; no one will know how hard I work. The rewarding system (Kudos), there are tax deductibles when you decide to spend them.

Great opportunity to become a well respected multi lines Adjuster

Fast-paced environment, excellent management, and marketing will keep you focused and motivated. Income levels reflect efforts. Must be well organized and balanced and be sure you can service the workload you seek to stay on top of your timelines. Insurers are getting more demanding and the service provided by independents will always try to meet those demands.

Pros

Independent self starter

Cons

Insurance company unrealistic expectations

Friendly People, Great Work/Life Balance

- Heavy Workload at times but that comes in any Claims position - Slightly underpaid - Friendly management - Little to no incentive to perform well, lack of reward for top performers

Great place for contract piecework

Referred by a former employer/colleague and the job came together very quickly. Casual contract/part time, pay per claim closed - great for a young retiree!
