CKF is a great place to work.
manager (Current Employee) –  Hantsport, NS12 March 2019
Co-workers are like family. Executive and management levels are supportive of new ideas and improvements. Hard work is recognized and rewarded. There's opportunity for education and advancement within the company. Salary & benefits are very competitive. I look forward to finishing out my career here. The company supports internal social functions and goes out of it's way to provide opportunities for employees to foster social connections among peers. The best part about working here is that I still enjoy coming into work everyday.
Pros
Enjoy coming to work

The only good thing to be said about this company is the pay and benefits. Unfortunately you have to cope with predatory management and inept employees to benefit.

Great company
Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Langley, BC22 February 2019
CKF is working hard at changing the culture. Over the past year many great things have happened - every month there is an employee event - managers cook breakfast for employees, pizza lunches. They even brought in a dunk tank at an employee bar-b-que and employees got the chance to dunk managers of their choice. New union a bit of a downer but overall a great place to work. Some people are negative and no matter what you do you will never please them but every workplace has them.
Pros
Company cares
Cons
negative people

MANAGER, QUALITY AND PROCESS CONTROL (Current Employee) –  Langley, BC13 January 2019
A long time employer in the Langley Area that has provided a good salary and benefits for a long time. However, this is not an easy job and at moments feels as more investment and resources are needed to make it work.
Pros
Good salary and good people
Cons
Very Hot in the summer, cold in the winter.

Toilet bowl manufacturing
Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Langley b.c.24 May 2018
Worst management I have ever experienced, machines constantly breaking down and maintenance standing around doing nothing about it except slapping it back together so you can struggle through your shift again. No consideration to fixing things correctly so operators don't have to suffer and pay the consequences for lost production. Talented will be chased out unskilled will be promoted, millwrights on the floor are called standstillwrights as they only yap all shift. Good thing the pay is good or there would be nothing going for this company! Don't work here you will regret it!
Pros
4 days off and good pay
Cons
Toxic environment, toxic management

Awful company treat staff really bad
Labourer (Former Employee) –  Langley, BC12 February 2018
I would not recommend working for ckf. The management and hr dept are the worst I have ever seen. They set a culture of treating employees like they not human. They get joy out of causing stress and anxiety and being inhumane to staff.
Pros
No pros - would not work here
Cons
Culture is set to cause anxiety to hard working staff

run run run relentless pages. not allowed outside the door during your 12 hours. no smoking or tobacco allowed on the property.
Millwright Mechanic (Current Employee) –  Hantsport, NS6 September 2017
Absolute nightmare, totally incompetent management completely unorganized. If you like fighting fires all the time without any parts and nothing to work with , this is the place for you.
They probably have the greatest safety policy ever written, zero tolerance everything, however the only times it applys is when they want to fire someone, or doesn't interfere with production.

Poor Management
Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Hantsport, NS26 July 2017
Favouritism and discrimination at all steps of the corporate ladder. Would not want anyone I care about to be employed by CKF as they discard long term employees regularly at all plants like dirty socks.
Pay off long term employees and include hush order clauses so no one knows about the labor law and human rights violations that happen on a regular basis.
When a president of a company states that "2 employees should be let go from each plant to keep everyone else on their toes" ...it is a sign that employees are not valued.

Day at work
Accounting Analyst (Current Employee) –  Hantsport, NS17 May 2017
Extremely busy environment where no day is ever the same. Training is at a minimum so I have learned most of it on my own with little help. The management is not great and there is a lot of favoritism. There is no room for advancement. The most enjoyable part of work here is my co-workers. The least would be management and how they treat us.
Pros
close to home
Cons
can be very stressful
