Transit Dispatch/ Scheduler/ Supervisor (Current Employee) – Peterborough, ON – 20 July 2017
The people I work with are great people. Communication is lacking though. Very weak management. I love the work I do, but do not like how things are run. They need to move into the present. To many old programs, and no new.
Management (Former Employee) – PETERBOROUGH – 16 November 2018
City management needs to promote forward looking culture, and ensure staff are supported to help bring positive change. Too many back room deals and mutual back scratching have taken place. It is time the city holds its agencies to account. It is time the city partners more effectively with county and townships. It is time city staff engage more effectively with citizens. The city needs to accept that questions need to be asked and answered about its core business.
Waste Water Treatment Facility with Remote Pump Stations including Centennial Fountain
o CUPE 504 Electrician (Current Employee) – Peterborough, ON – 12 May 2017
Constant pressure work environment, multitasking, team work and working alone with minimum supervision. Lots of emergency repair call ins. Work performed included all of the industrial electrician skill sets. Best task was the Centennial Fountain, improving its operation from weekly repairs to once a season. Management was difficult at times, minimal understanding of the industrial electrician job, demanding, multiple tasks requested. Did 90% of all purchases of electrical items. Was constantly learning new skills, software, and safety. Best task was repairing and upgrading the industrial Ethernet communications including cellular stations. Enjoyed the maintenance staff as complete team work partners.
Front Line Staff (Former Employee) – Peterborough, ON – 27 April 2017
Worst place I have ever worked, horrible, horrible lazy catty co -workers, the most unbelievably unprofessional and incompetent management team. The whole corporation from top to bottom is filled with useless morons. Extremely good pay and benefits but not worth the stress and hassle to work for them, I would honestly rather beg for change on the street then go back and work there. Save yourself the paper and don't send your resume in!!!
Executive Office Assistant and Inside Sales (Former Employee) – Peterborough, ON – 1 August 2013
I really grew in in this job. I was able to do a lot more then was in my original job description. I was able to do inside sales as well as administration, which helped in the overall growth of the company. I found it challenging and rewarding.
Decent place to work, not many entry level positions actively available
Customer Service Associate Wind Mobile (Former Employee) – Peterborough, ON – 2 April 2013
While Peterborough may be a nice enough place to work, it leaves much to be desired. Most of my coworkers are good people, but the management team is not the friendliest. My typical work day would be a walk in, brief hello to coworkers then nose to the grindstone until breaks or lunch. I'd have to say the most enjoyable part of my job would be the end of my shift. The hardest part, probably dealing with some of the management staff.
