Administration in Hamilton, ON

smart, fun people, very busy
Lots of smart people, and lots of others who are filling space like any city. Tough to get good projects as many are keeping them for themselves. Not a lot of advancement but there's tons of people who just stay because the pay is so good. Good secure job overall.

Good place to start your career and learn
Good starting point to begin our career. You will have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities if you want, due to senior staff wanting to do just the bare minimum. However, moving up the management ladder depends on seniority and who you know.

Great Employer
Overall it is great but it is a short contract. The team is friendly and supportive, The pay is great. Enjoyed the work it isn't hard and stressful. Good culture.
Data Entry Clerk - Dept of Healthy & Safe Communities in Hamilton, ON

Enjoyed my contract term experience
Great organization to work with! I enjoyed my contract role at the vaccination clinic for covid 19 and wished i could have continued further in the role.
Maintenance Worker in Hamilton, ON

Room for improvement
The job itself provides personal satisfaction. However, there is poor ability to properly manage staff in my section. Plus, the managers are always "acting" so there is no sense of stability from that level. Definitely prefers people who "just do their job" as opposed to outside the box thinkers. Not at all receptive to suggestions to improve the work place and certain tasks.

Interview questions

This will probably depend in what area you work in. Mine was a written test. A week later an excel test followed by an interview. The interview questions are form a list and the same for each applicant. There is no feedback if you are not selected much like most zombie corporations out there. Good luck!

Huh...they actually do interviews? seems like their computer system/algorithms toss out any external candidate for every single job that they post and that no real human being comes in contact with a candidates resume and or that physical person, as they are afraid to actually hire highly qualified individuals with experience.
