Great Working experience
A typical day can be stressful but you will be put to work and they teach you how to do a great job for what your doing. They really help you to learn and put trust in you.

You have some groups of full time employees always trying to get you fired or in trouble.
If you managed to get seasonal work is not too bad. After you “prove” yourself for a couple seasons and they are hiring full time. If you are hoping to get full time, pray that the person conducting your interview likes you or you won’t get the position, even if you’re qualified. Many upper management individuals are toxic, behave like children having tantrums all the time and believe that is okay. Said management treat workers like garbage. You do encounter some decent employees that will honestly try and help you. Good luck if you want to work for the city of Hamilton.

Unionized work environment that takes in to consideration staff needs
I worked for the city of Hamilton for ten years. There is lot of room for change and advancement for employees that have the drive to work hard. The employment area that I was a part of was challenging and fast paced. You have to be good with a team and communicative. I would definitely recommend working for the city of Hamilton in any position.

Would not recommend anyone seeking a long term career at this employer
VERY POLITICAL ORGANIZATION that treats employees poorly. Lack of trust and certainly a lack of respect for employees. Noticable change in culture after amalgamation and certainly not for the better.

Interview questions

This will probably depend in what area you work in. Mine was a written test. A week later an excel test followed by an interview. The interview questions are form a list and the same for each applicant. There is no feedback if you are not selected much like most zombie corporations out there. Good luck!

Huh...they actually do interviews? seems like their computer system/algorithms toss out any external candidate for every single job that they post and that no real human being comes in contact with a candidates resume and or that physical person, as they are afraid to actually hire highly qualified individuals with experience.
