I have been employed with The City of Calgary for over 11 years and have found them a very good employer with the opportunity to progress and also change career The offer very competitive wages for a municipality and work/life balance is something they pride themselves on. The City is a very sort after place to work in Calgary. The team I work on is busy and high achieving, but we still have fun in our day to day tasks and going to work each day is always enjoyable.
Good benefits, stable work environment
Union structure can sometimes be restrictive

Very little in terms of out of work stuff going on in the office, but the office is relaxed and good to work at. Low pressure environmkent, typically get in and go about your work. Expected to get work done, but not pushed to work all the time, so breaks are expected.
