As an Operations Analyst you will be part of a team within the Client Service Delivery (CSD) team. The role will encompass direct contact and collaboration with our clients, external auditors and third party stakeholders, and internal functions of our operations such as Reconciliations. The Reconciliations function is responsible for reconciling client transactions to third party data, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the records. The focus of the CSD function is to identify and resolve issues described in the third party reconciliations, to ensure that the portfolio is maintained (cash flows and security updates), and that any residual risk is captured and signed off prior to production of financial statements.

Senior Operations Analyst (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS28 January 2019
CITCO is a place where you get your work experience and you depart for greener pastures at another company that will pay and treat you better. Generally less than average salary.

Garbage company
Senior Fund Accountant (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS18 April 2018
If you work here, you will start to hate finance. Very young group, other than the "lifers" who hate their lives. All the management is rude and concerned about young blood stealing their jobs, and tone at the top is very poor. They send out a cheap product to client, charge client way too much, and pay employees way too little. If you're a graduate and only offered a job at Citco and no where else, keep applying because you will hate your life.
Pros
Free breakfast once a month

Get entry level job experience but leave quickly
Senior Investor Relations Specialist (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON14 March 2018
This is a good job right out of University to gain real world experience and have something for your resume. However, do not stay longer than a year. The hours are long, management is often unpleasant to deal with. There is a very strong "blame" culture whereby you will always be in fear of making a mistake.
Pros
Great benefits
Cons
Long hours

high turnover as they like to higher young people, which is great for me. Those who stay there seemed to be unambitious. Salary is low.I worked until 1 am some times, and got taxi chits home, was a cool experience as an intern.
repetitive work also crushed my soul(but other full times seemed to be fine with it)
Pros
Free drinks, good location and office, nice lunch room, young people
Cons
Low salary. repetitive work

High Turnover
SR. FUND ACCOUNTANT (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON25 December 2017
There's a reason why the turnover is high and it's mainly because of the salary and growth within the company is not satisfying enough for Fund accountants to stay longer than 2 years. The work culture is good if you are a recent university graduate. Other than that, long term it's not the best place to work for.
Pros
Young, dynamic environment
Cons
Long hours, no bonus for Fund Accountants going forward. Favouritism is valued more than hard work.

Good Workplace for New Grads
Senior Fund Accountant (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON17 January 2018
Great for new work entrants, but not good for career growth. Management is deaf to operational needs. The organization has significant potential however it is filled with underqualified, incompetent and arrogant management.
Pros
Good benefits for the role
Cons
Management is very out of touch with operations

Great place to start a career
Senior Trade Processor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON25 April 2017
Citco is a good place to start a career in the financial industry. It has been an amazing launch pad for many of my previous coworkers. You will pull long hours to meet daily deliverables required to meet the clients needs but the benefits package is top notch. Management will depend on the team. Many managers are great but some are more focus on politics over preformence.
Pros
People, experience
Cons
Long hours

Great workplace for young people
Intermediate/Senior Application Developer (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON27 June 2012
The workplace environment is what a typical fast-moving financial environment would be with a few nice perks. Co-workers are very professional and the company seeks only the best talent that goes through quite thorough interview process. The management is a healthy mix of laid-back but professional and goal-focused. The staff is mostly younger people, aside from management, and there are many group outings/parties and sports activities. Great place to learn about the finance industry and technology! (And free beer after 5 pm :D )
Pros
many group events and sports activities
Cons
overtime, however business is addressing this

Great place to start and gain experience with Excel and Bloomberg
Profit & Loss Analyst (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON25 November 2014
Good exposure to industry. Develop much needed and sought after skills:
-Multi-tasking
-Excel
-Bloomberg/Reuters
-Knowledge of Financial Products and how they work

Overall, great young co-workers with decent bosses. That being said, work can be boring and stressful. The worst part about this job is the hours. Regularly stay late (7pm). Not so bad just annoying and you soon realize that your salary is spread thinner after you work these hours. Don't pay Overtime until 44 hours has been reached - which you will always work.
Pros
Beer Fridge, Young co-workers, Good entry level
Cons
late hours, boring work for the most part, salary is bad if you are there more than 1 year

Young culture, inexperienced management, good place to learn operations & excel skills
Investor Relations Specialist (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON14 July 2015
You do not need a finance degree but it helps. Most people see this as a stepping stone to other financial services firms. IR is a tough industry, extreme need for attention to detail. Your work is heavily monitored to mitigate financial risk but it can be tough to deal with it.
They expect you to earn the position during probation (6 months).

Good training, feels like high school ( can be good or bad depending who your team is).
Pros
good training, exposure to financial administration, free beer after 5pm
Cons
Heavily monitored, information overload, inexperienced management, poor performance management plan

Trade Processor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON7 March 2017
I enjoyed my time at working at Citco even though at times the hours were long. I learned a lot from my time spent here. The most enjoyable part of my job here was being able to interact with the different departments within the company.

Investor Relations Specialist (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON5 March 2012
Citco is an okay place to work at best. You are required to work long hours where the additional work load is not appreciated. The company treats there employees with respect but are quick to judge and hesitant to recognize above and beyond work.

Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON30 May 2016
Citco is a fun place to work at times. The people are really good but sometimes the work can get boring. Sometimes supervisors and managers don't get rewarded because they work long hours with no OT pay.
