Did a group interview. We were first put into pairs and we had to introduce the other person. Name, hobbies, favourite movie, interesting facts, etc. Then we answered questions in small groups. Why are movie goers called guests, what are some traits of a good employee, what would you improve within the theatre. Very casual and friendly.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Cineplex a better place to work?
Assistant managers should get benefits at the least. We need to make sure that we’re keeping up with the times and updating our theatres, our location is outdated and overall worn out which I believe deters people from spending their money with us. Favouritism is a problem at our location.
The building usually opens 30 minutes before the first show time. If working in a food unit, your shift would usually start about an hour-90 minutes before the building opens. If you are working as a floor usher or box office/guest services, your shift will usually begin about 5-10 minutes before the building opens. Can vary on weekdays during the school year from 2-3PM-11PM and weekends from 9-10AM-11PM.
I would quit because upper management is disrespectful, lazy, and inappropriate in terms of hitting on employees and minors. The work environment consists of mainly high schoolers, meaning that there is catty gossip and immaturity involved. Also, you don’t get paid very much, and it can be very boring between each major ‘rush’ of customers.
It depends on when they’re hiring, usually in November, and May-August you will get an interview quicker than the rest of the year. Also they tend to hire a month or 2 before big movies release date ex. Star Wars, big marvel films, frozen 2....
