I worked in credit cards over the phone customer service and you're pressure to sell and read scripts like a robot they don't allow you to talk to your colleagues while you're on the floor because they knew how much we were complaining about this job maybe I was in the worst department the worst experience is when I had a broken arm and my doctor told me to stop working for a few weeks and they were harassing me to come back to work because everyone was quitting the job my supervisor would call me and ask me how come you're outside if you have a broken home you should stay home and sometimes she would call and say anything and just hang up... very creepy most managers has no management skills and the company don't listen to their employees!

CIBC is amazing on the employees' ends because it gives us an opportunity to bond and not just be colleagues but be able to make friends. The support system that they have is a very good in terms of management and they are always willing to help.

Typical call centre environment Management were not the greatest and the staff was not treated the greatest. I was very happy to leave but a good starter job to make me appreciate every other company

I love the people I work with and my job as intraday analyst. we manage call centre reporting vacation and call monitoring. we send out 3 reports daily on call centre operation.

I would highly recommend cibc as workplace. The working environment is great to excel and great place to learn financial services. Very competitive salary compare to other employers in same class.

-Overall, an excellent place to work -CIBC tried hard to keep employees happy through events, contests, recognition, and were often quite accommodating when it came to balancing work/life issues -Salary was appropriate for an entry level position, and commission was moderate -Advancement was possible and encouraged, but requires maximum effort and proven statistics - opportunities are presented often -Management was excellent, encouraging employees to do their best and supplying the assistance/coaching/tools necessary to achieve personal goals

it was very hard because some customers weren't happy and wouldn't be very polite over the phone . I learned a lot how to guide customers and to keep them calm and to understand their needs and help solving their problems . At the end of the day ,I am happy with my work because I resolved their issues and manage to keep our customers and they are also happy with the service I provide .

While CIBC is a good company to work for in general, its sales targets are abusive of both their customers and their support representatives, to the extent that you are effectively required to offer people who can barely speak any English or who are in a bad mood or even while their in-line being served and their card is just getting declined for something while they try to get on with their day, all of which they advise against in their respectful selling documents. There are a number of structural issues as well with their service support documents, a number of holes and/or outdated information throughout the support documents that make some call types effectively impossible to complete without manager authorization, leading to up to 1hr hold times for managers, usually averaging 20 minutes on a regular basis. And my direct manager also had no training or practical experience with our position, just with sales. However, this was only on the credit card customer support side of things; there might be other departments that aren't so bad.

review credit bureau reports for credit card applications and accept or decline adequate credit limits. Helped clients to resolve dispute with merchants by reviewing the terms and conditions of the merchant to conclude if the client is eligible to a chargeback (refund). co workers were very nice and professional the general atmosphere was positive Hardest part: repetitiveness Most enjoyable part of the job: find a solution to clients with disputes with merchants

The Management team is very helpful and your colleague are great fun to spend time with. Throughout the day at work your working in a dynamic environment and with the every call your assisting clients which is a great feeling because your able to do something for them. And CIBC always something great for their employees going on.
