I personally enjoyed working here. The company culture is decent. The training is lengthy, and you better pay attention to the products if you want to do well on the floor. Learn about interest rates and you'll be fine bc that will be a daily question from Cxs. One thing I don't miss is being yelled at/belittled on the phone and having to take it (unless they call you a derogatory name you must stay connected). If you don't have thick skin, this job is not for you!

Pros

Great benefits, Their training is on point, Team Leads are helpful, Not a toxic environment, Free lunches some nights.

Cons

The push for quotas brings on daily pressure, There's competition to advance, Small room for error (it's a bank!), Parking is unavailable, You have to go on a long waiting list that goes by seniority to get a parking spot

Very disorganised

Stressful environment, job not ment for me personally. It’s worth giving it a try, but most people tend to quit regarding the salary vs all the task that the agent must do vs the stress of the clients.. Training does not explain everything and on most situations you need to figure it yourself ..

Pros

Good benefits

Cons

Stress and salary

Productive

The benefit of working or having worked for CIBC was you are introduced to a business environment, as well as learn the different services and products offered, systems used as well as the customer base that CIBC assists. Overall it was a great learning curve and experience to be part of it.

Pros

Entitled benefits, in class teach before actually working

Cons

Sometimes it can get intense

Working for a major bank in a call center

Hard hours, no time to breath between calls and the commission structure does not adequately compensate employees for the amount of work/sales they put in. Hard workers will be able to advance within the company and make a great career for themselves. Strong base pay.

Pros

Good people, good base pay.

Cons

Hours, bonus/commission structure, Large disconnect between departments.

Learned a lot and experienced a lot !!

Call after call ,back and forth in french and english within a matter of minutes at times !! Took between 90 to 120 calls per day ,quantity of calls more important than quality !! Breaks go to quickly ,not much time to socialize !!

Pros

Great benefits, pay is O.K. !!

Cons

Very little chance of advancement if you are not french, italian or in the in crowd !!
