Great place to grow and develop as a young professional; works with very notable, high profile, and reputable Canadian clients . Very team-oriented culture. Management open and very approachable — both with respect to day-to-day operations and with to long-term growth initiatives.

Unprofessional behaviour of manager. You’re treated well when you suck up to the managers. Manager rude to and in front of clients. Even some csr’s show pouty faces to clients but no one is there to correct the behaviour. Colleagues act like they’re your friends but they backstab you the minute your back is turned to them. Partisan behaviour.

CSR jobs are all quickly becoming part time 10-18hrs/wk...being replaced by digital options. Computer systems up and down all the time makes doing job hard and effects customer experience. Large part of a shift is spent reporting digital theft/fraud. Customers can be demanding and rude. No support from management, they don’t really see clients anymore either unless there is a huge problem.

CIBC a pathetic place to work. The management is totally corrupt. Don’t know the business ethics. Always tries to focus on sale. On the name of retirement planning, CIBC is selling it’s products making fool out of people.

New management being brought in from mostly TD is absolutely horrible. i would not recommend CIBC as an employer. It is bottom of the the "Big 5" for a reason. Career advancement is based on everything EXCEPT performance.

It's a great place to develop your skills and learn credit. This job is designed to prepare you for a future in commercial banking so if that's what you are looking for, it's a great way to enter the industry.

Not the best culture, learning is often done on ones own. Departments are in different silos and it is very difficult to get help when needed. Help often involves favours.

Investment advisors work independently and operate like a small business/entrepreneur. If you have the drive you will have plenty of opportunity to advance

Never go to HR - you'll be hassled or fired. No room for creative thinking and in most cases they don't seem to care about staff unless you are a manager.

It was a fine place to work when management knew what they were doing. Constant changes in management made it hard to align my self to the overall goal as it would change constantly

This is a high level job where you are given enough training and resources to be successful at your job. You need to be aware of what you are doing and if you wish to be there. I will only recommend this to someone who has a passion for this as it is a very demanding job, but a lot of fun if you have a passion for it

After 11 years it seemed i was just anothe rnumber at the end of the day. Benefits are good and theres potential to move up but the talent management is sub par and they're seemingly only interested in hitting targets no matter how you get there.

I like the people working there. It is fairly laid back, but at the same time advancement is slow and not drastic. It is an overall good entry into the banking world

CIBC is a great company to work for, if you are good at sales. I didn’t feel like an advisor, I felt a ton of sales pressure. But the pay is decent and the benefits are great

I would rather not give a review for this company. No work/home balance, sales focused, management mediocre, lack of training and support, lack of recognition

Absolutely no room for advancement... This includes pay and vacation. You are the lowest on the totem pole. It would be a good position for someone new or close to retirement. Not a lifelong type of position.

Good and supportive enviroment, fast paced, large learning curve on the systems with support on the intranet and dedicated staff on the phone. Good and frendly manager Hardest part is to learn all different systems with in the different departments Good, fun and relaxing meetings. always willing to help

great team members and best place to enhance the new technical knowledge. This is a tight-knit team that constantly strives to be the best they can be. Some great perks are short-day Fridays year round, birthday celebrations, work outings and overall an energetic, positive, ever-evolving workplace.

Had a manager physically get in my face and was pressured by him and the branch manager not to go to HR. Safe to say I no longer work there, however I will always regret not going to HR. Awful place to work.

Really love my coworkers here and the in inclusive environment at CIBC. You can tell they really care about their employees. Great benefits package as well as banking perks but to me it doesn't quite make up for the salary at the end of the day.
