Great Place to work

Featured review

CIBC selected this as a representative review
Great place to grow and develop as a young professional; works with very notable, high profile, and reputable Canadian clients . Very team-oriented culture. Management open and very approachable — both with respect to day-to-day operations and with to long-term growth initiatives.

Great place to work

Manager helps to delegate tasks efficiently and the team members are willingly to help when you don't understand. The hybrid work setting also helps with work-life balance.

It was a great place to start.

What is the best part of working at the company? The people who come in every day need your help and are so thankful to see a real person. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The management. The pay is also low and with the way everything is so expensive I had to find a job that paid better. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It was alright. I enjoyed the other ladies mostly but they offered the new girl a chance to advance and didn’t even ask me What is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy and full helping clients with their day to day banking needs.

Great place to work

I enjoyed working at Cibc. Great environment and work culture. Great benefits and work life balance. Pay is decent. Great team members and management.

No work-life balance, lots of flexibility though

Decent salary, Directors don't know the systems and there's no training so you are on your own. If you get into it from working your way up then you may do okay but if you come into from outside you will be a chicken with its head cut off.

Good place to work

Good benefits, vacation time, holidays off. Training program could be better. Lots of turnover in the staff but also lots of opportunities for advancement.

Soul sucking, aggressive management styles and lack of communication for a call center no less

What is the best part of working at the company? There is none unfortunately the company is toxicWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Constantly shifting management, on top of un realistic sales goals depending on the manager you have. On top of not being able to actively be coached in any proper manner, just a here's what you did wrong don't do it again and move on instead of making sure you know the training. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? They track every movement on there systems so they know instantly if you try and go to any website to check anythingWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?I worked in the contact center answering the phone for credit card services

Very independent

Part time job during school they publish rankings so hard to get help when you have a problem since everyone needs to focus on their own statistics first and getting deals done

Fun workplace fair work expectations and helpful team

Great workplace if you’re looking to commit the time. If you do well and want to move up, management will work with you to make that happen (if they like you). Was only ever busy around lunch and managers are around to help for tricky issues. The pay was minuscule though.

Pros

Great team

Cons

Horrible pay

Poor

Horrible place to work. You work like a dog for no proper compensation. The hours are completely ridiculous especially if you have a family. I would advise against this job

Great benefits

Only good thing about this job was the benefits. They have a great vacation package which I think increases every year. And you get a nice bonus at the end of the year based on performance. However, they are disorganized, dishonest, show favoritism and nepotism. But if you have a great team / manager, you may tolerate it. Problem is, they change teams n managers every 6months. So you may end up with a manager that gets nothing done n that may affect your work/life balance. They are highly understaffed. Highly. And the training you get starts you on the wrong foot. If you cannot handle large amounts of calls back to back, this is not going to be easy. But they give you lots of vacation days to make up for the stress. And you have access to virtual therapy. You're going to need it lol.

Pros

Great benefits and vacations

Cons

Everything else

No support

Great people , management is poorly equipped to train their newly hired staff. Other than that I would of pursued if the management was more focused and one on one training.

Pros

Work/life balance

Cons

Poor management

Short-Term

The experience varies depending on the team your working with. Good low level position to gain experience and knowledge before moving on to a higher level.

Typical Job for Customer Service

Don't expect too much working in customer service here. It is extremely stressful and competitive and many people just trying to get by getting their paycheck and moving on to a better role, stay for a 1-2 years max and find something else better.

Depends on your manager

Some managers can be really bad. Some are better. So depends on the location. But in general you are reminded that you are lower down the hierarchical chain often. Growth can be slow and a lot of politics involved in who gets promoted.
