CIBC Edmonton, AB employee reviews

Good Experience
Working at CIBC is good if you're looking to get into the personal banking world. As a teller you have targets and goals that you must meet in order to get a promotion.

Decent
Work was very intense and precise. The job was an expected training of 3 months but I learned it in 1 month. The downside of it was the pay was absolutely unfair $15 to do what I was doing was not worth it. CIBC pays very bad I general. I have worked in 3 different roles with them and it’s never anything that can make it worth it.

Great work life balance
Started work 9 months ago after moving on from another financial institution. The benefits and employee programs are great. They have a great employee advance program.

Decent bank, with some targets which are not beneficial to achieve
Decent back with some good benefits and they have targets which will make no difference if you achieve it or not. Some managers are negative and will make your workplace difficult.

Putting clients first is not on CIBC's agenda, it is setting unrealistic targets for employees
If you are friends with management you move ahead in the company. Targets are unrealistic and employees lie to meet weekly targets. Clients do not come first, targets do.
