Large financial company, if you are a good worker there is room for advancement. They do provide bonuses for most of the staff at the end of the year.
Cons
not much to see on lunch break outside

This company has really gone downhill and this is strongly reflected in the share price. CI is unable to compete effectively with the competition and they are losing a lot of talent due to: micromanagement, nepotism, favouritism and that lack of interpersonal connection between management and employees.

Any mistakes done in a previous year will be used against you and the year end bonuses are laughable. They are currently severely understaffed and the Sentry acquisition has been a nightmare. Steer clear.
Pros
location, training, people
Cons
micromanagement, uneducated mid level managers, favouritism, pay

You'll need to pay your dues here, but if you're lucky enough to come across another position of interest within the company, be prepared to work harder to get it than the last one if you want a good shot and landing the role. The corporate culture is very healthy and welcoming, and the office is an enjoyable place to be.

Excellent training if you "earn" it. A lot of bigger brother monitoring and coaching. Benefits and compensation is good.
If you don't have family already working at the company or as a financial advisor with a large CI book of business promotion is difficult but not impossible.

The entry level position is in a call centre, all your calls are monitored and reviewed daily. Unless you are perfect and do everything how they want it, you will have negative reviews which affect career advancement and future training.

Very mundane role, but if you can prove yourself and get lucky you can move up in the company. Just be prepared to wait a while.
Pros
Compensation and benefits, rsp matching
Cons
boring role, monitored constantly, difficult to advance

Strong training system in place to learn mutual fund industry quickly. I was able to learn a lot about the industry and how investments work, especially the relationship between clients and advisors. There is generally a young team, making work fun. Management tends to move slowly in reaction to competitors and regulation from my perspective. There is a good appreciation for work/life balance, however you are expected to stay late on occasion.
Pros
Strong work/life balance
Cons
Compensation is not competitive
