Wouldn’t Recommend working for the Ogden Site
Direct Support Professional (Current Employee) - Ogden, UT - 7 August 2023
I’ve worked in multiple locations and had a positive experience in all but the Ogden location. The job in itself is stressful but that’s to be expected with this population. They can absolutely be a complete joy though and that makes the job fun. You help clients with meds, meals, ADL’s and anything they individually need help accomplishing. Management and office staff at this location are awful. My experience was that of a very toxic work environment.
Pros
Clients can be fun
Cons
Office staff, management, poor pay and benefits

Thankful every day for this job
Direct Care Staff Member (Current Employee) - 660 N Airport Rd, Cedar City, UT 84721 - 22 July 2023
I love this job with all my heart! You learn so much alongside the individuals you work with, and watching them improve warms my heart. It can be very stressful! But, asking time off is super easy, management is super fun and considerate, and the enviroment is so friendly and warm. If you ever have questions, its a breeze to get them answered. HR is on top of everything. It's so fun and so easy to fit right in. So many opportunities to cover shifts or get coverage, and even overtime. My favorite thing is doing activities with the individuals, like going on a walk to get sodas, or bowling!
Pros
Friendly, easy time-off, coverage, overtime, great management
Cons
Stressful at times, limited breaks

Literally a "roll of the dice" on what you get
Direct Care Support Staff (Current Employee) - Cedar City, UT - 27 December 2022
I was excited to start work, and had a bunch of fun ideas and activities to participate in with clients. I was put in a filthy house that smelled of urine and the floors were sticky! In my 1st week, I realized that this House was going to be a challenge. (One day I came in to blood on the walls in 2 different areas). There were no fun outings or activities, no holiday decorations or preparations. I was spit at numerous times, bit twice, hit, and scratched all in the same week. Got to the point where I was afraid of the client. Asked for a new assignment, and it has been 2 weeks and I have not heard anything. This makes me sad because I really was optimistic for this position. We should be able to feel safe at work, not be attacked and left to fear thesde individuals.
Pros
They pay you to train you
Cons
Safety of employees not a priority, Schedule you were hired for is not adhered to, Poor communication

Lose access to the schedule, get in trouble when you work a shift you weren't supposed to.
Caregiver (Former Employee) - St. George, UT - 21 December 2022
My incompetent manager didn't check to see if I had received the new schedule, printed days before this incident. Nope, no confirmation from me that I had seen it either. So of course, I worked the shift I was previously scheduled. This one offense caused my manager to remove my access to the schedule completely, and then she ghosted me. Am I fired? Am I let go? I asked my manager's superiors and the HR manager. They all ghosted me. Seems fishy to me.
Pros
None
Cons
The management is incompetent, the clients are abusive, no one cares about you.

If you’re honest with what you need, they’ll make it work!
Residential Manager (Former Employee) - Provo, UT - 14 December 2022
Overall a great company! Some houses/managers can be harder, but if you’re open about what you can and can’t handle; they will make arrangements so that everyone is comfortable and happy with their job! I genuinely enjoyed every associate director at Chrysalis, as well as HR, the financial team, and the behaviorists! Flexible hours/shifts. Exciting activities with fun clients. Constantly pushing for more funding so that staff can be paid more, which is great!
Pros
Flexible schedule, Teamwork, Communication
Cons
Need a better sick/no show/call out policy

Do not work here
I currently work here and I would recommend staying away from this job. The upper management is horrible and hires the bare minimum staff to increase profits. They also keep violent residents so that they can continue to make money.
Pros
Can sometimes do homework
Cons
literally everything else

Incredible management support
House Manager (Former Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - 1 August 2022
My time at Chrysalis was solid. I worked as a Support Staff for 5 years and worked as a House Manager for about a year. I was lucky enough to work under the best Associate Directors in the business. Most of the shifts were laid back with occasional situations that could become pretty stressful but I was always able to get help from my supervisors when necessary.

Some good, some very bad — taxing on mental health.
Direct Support Professional (Former Employee) - North Las Vegas, NV - 18 July 2022
As a disabled person working here, I did not have an accommodation met — one which should have been able to have been met simply by virtue of other people following workplace guidelines. The lack of adherence to my accommodation triggered extreme anxiety to the point of physical illness, because I did not feel safe or respected in the work environment. I wanted very much to continue working here, and the individuals were truly lovely people, but I needed to prioritize my mental health. I had coworkers that showed up hours late, left early, or consistently slept through most of their shift despite us all signing contracts saying that we would not sleep on shift. Some of my coworkers were fantastic people who I am sad tu leave, and others, it is a relief to leave. I wanted very much to make a difference and to work here long term, but the toll of the way some folks treated me was not worth it. There were excuses made for the coworkers that were refusing to work with my accommodation, but no work was done with me to find a resolution or compromise.

Advancement opportunities and great co-workers
Associate Director (Current Employee) - Provo, UT - 16 July 2022
I have worked in several different roles with Chrysalis over the last few years. The company is growing and expanding which has led to several opportunities for advancement. I have really enjoyed getting to know the clients, staff, and managers that I've worked with during my time here. There is turnover, like at any job in this field, but there a sense of security and stability that I haven't experienced at other jobs like this one. The schedule flexibility is nice.
Pros
Hard work will get you promoted, schedule flexibility, awesome clients
Cons
Not many from my perspective

Rbt job
RBT (Former Employee) - Utah County, UT - 27 June 2022
Great role to be involved in behavior therapy without having to go to any schooling for it. You must complete RBT training and supervised hours but it’s great once you get going.
Pros
Working with kids
Cons
Okay pay and no travel compensation

Severely underpaid for what we do
Direct Support Professional (Former Employee) - Reno, NV - 24 May 2022
This type of job is so important, so companies should be paying more to entice candidates to apply. It's also a very difficult job with high turnover, and better pay would significantly help.

Support Living Assistant (Current Employee) - Azure 01 North Las Vegas Nevada - 24 May 2022
In my opinion Chrysalis is a fun productive work place where employees get along in a safe and very kept well environment. We have good support by a upper management and my direct manager is very competent in her duties. We also have a good group of clients that we are taking care off at the location I work
