Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are joint ventures supported by an agreement between Alberta Health Services (AHS) and participating primary care. PCNs are collaborations between local physician groups and AHS Zones to enhance comprehensive primary care services in a geographic area. The Chinook PCN encompasses the southwestern region of Alberta and has been in operation since 2005. The Chinook PCN funds 164 staff and includes 147 physicians who work in one of 29 clinics.
