The Chase is pretty good at creating a good vibe for guests. The higher management is a bit of a 'boys club' and hard to advance to. Management generally is constantly in flux due to low salary and lack of incentives. The staff are generally great people though! It would be a great summer /side/ second/ school job for the tips, but don't expect to excel there. Just getting to a server position can takes years! Everywhere has their drama, but at least The Chase can still pull off some great service despite it!

Pretty bad now

Management wants to hire work horses - long hoursNot much trust in employees - every recipe, no matter how straightforward or simple, has to be shown to you by the chefInconsistent - sometimes thrifty, sometimes painfully pedantic about small detailsInefficient systems which means lots of wasted time on jobs that could be done quicker with proper equipment or a different method to a recipeHigh turnover - lots of people quitting after a couple months or weeks, walkouts, and people just quitting without notice so management is desperate for people who may not be qualified or management just straight up lies to qualified people about certain circumstances in order to get them to agree to work thereAnd as a result of all that, it's just an unprofessional kitchen. Pretty dangerous at times and not all that clean.Even if you're green to the industry, I would go elsewhere as there's some bad habits you could get from here that you'll have to unlearn eventually.

Work with this company

This company really provides good job training. The skills I learned here I will use the rest of my life. Chase hospitality also trys to promote from within the company. If you want to advance in the food and beverage industry this is the place to be. The ceo is also an amazing person who really cares about the employees.

Keeps getting worse

Management keeps getting worse and worse. they dont appreciate employees and get treated so badly that half the staff keep on leaving. No to voice your concerns

Probably the one company in GTA that has no clue what’s going on, either they’re still growing or no foundation is laid. No freedom for creativity, underpaid, overworked, HR didn’t honor the contract, benefits never activated, advancing the wrong people, too much bureaucracy, invoices paid late, the list goes on.

Though the culture is different in every venue, overall, a level of professionalism is expected from management and staff

Overall the best company I’ve worked for in the restaurant industry. Would highly recommend. Good vision for the industry and great managers who are very dedicated

Not bad a place

Overall the place is well kept and decently managed. I have one issue with the location and that’s the people there. People need to learn to be humble when they get a promotion. Respect everyone and have consideration of others and you will be fine. Another thing is don’t let the hot line bully you while you work because that’s where the issue is and they all think that they are better than the other cooks.

It was a great experience.

I learned how to get along in the kitchen with people, how to work in the kitchen, especially I handled a lot of fresh and amazing ingredients. With precious coworkers.

great professional environment to work. competitive pay, great teammates. less interfere and relaxing job. extremely busy especially weekend nights but manageable with great team support. management is excellent and professional

Team work is necessary and very important. The work environment is great, with people so approachable and friendly. Work load is sometimes heavy during the peak seasons.

Good company, good opportunities for advancement, very fast paced with the amount of covers but the ability to learn and grow is available. Good managers as well

Productive and Stimulating workplace

I have thoroughly enjoyed working here and would reccomend it highly. It is a challenging job and you need to be ready to work. The whole staff is incredible and management is great.

Places where only cliques matter

If you're not in the "in" circles, you will not advance at all. You are treated as lesser if you're not on cooking staff and management does nothing to curb this

Good work environment. Sometimes became very hectic, though was managed well through these times. Management was varied. Opportunity to move up in the company.

Never, never will recommend this place to work

Planta has a wonderful menu and it is a really fancy and beautiful restaurant for customers but the back of the house is like a nightmare !! really bad salary, crazy Sous chef, coworkers are very mind, short staff, everything is always 911 in the list and only one or two person in charge of the station. If you are sick they don't even care, you MUST DO YOUR JOB or work like that. A lot of yelling, the energy of this kitchen is weird, negative. New staff does not stay for more than 4 months. Nobody can resist this kitchen. I got sick of working here!!

Great company to work for. The management team is always pushing the boundaries of hospitality, They are very environmentally focused, and always treat their staff with respect.
