The C21 I worked for did not offer sick days, you had to use vacation days or lose the days wages, nor did they offer any benefits such as health or dental care.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Century 21? What are the steps along the way?
Very easy, they would take almost anyone with a pulse. Anyone could walk off the street, take a typing test and if you got 50 words or more, could speak reasonable English, you basically had the job. Owner was a racist and continually spoke of not wanting to hire ethnic minorities (he didn't want to see a woman wearing a hijab, for instance, at the front desk).
The company does not have an HR department, therefore the accountant conducts the interviews and performance reviews. He is not qualified in any way to perform these functions, in addition when an employee issue arises, there is no one to go to or help resolve things.
What would you suggest Century 21 management do to prevent others from leaving?
