Toe the line
Account Manager/Sales (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON11 September 2018
As long as you toe the line of what upper management expects from you then you will be fine, possibly even promoted but otherwise watch your back. You are expendable.

CDW has a work hard, play hard culture. Everyone is encouraged to get involved in various aspects of the organization and everyone is celebrated equally.

Automation.
Every day learn a new thing.
Can work 1 day in the week from home.
Management team is not as strong as the CFO AND CEO.
The most enjoyable of the job is seeing every one working above and beyond.

Ever seen the movie "Boiler Room"??
Corporate Sales Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON18 May 2017
The only thing that matters to CDW is sales. SALES SALES SALES. It doesn't matter if they customer is satisfied, only that the sale is made. It doesn't matter if we sell them a solution that isn't in the best interest of the customer, only that the sale is made. It doesn't matter if you've been working an account, or found a new account that wasn't being worked, as management will take it away and give it to one of their "stars", who quite frankly don't need more easy money. Glad to be out of that snake pit.

I will say though, that many of the sales reps were good people, but the company really doesn't care about anything but the all mighty dollar.
Pros
Free lunches, learning about new vendors/products

Great company culture, dynamic and challenging environment
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON28 April 2016
CDW is a great place to work due to the dynamic atmosphere and supportive coworkers. The position was a stepping stone for me and was not where I wanted to build my career, so it came time to part ways.

I learned a lot about IT as well as the sales profession, and built extensive experience managing customer relationships and coordinating various projects.

CDW allows its salespeople a lot of flexibility in how they conduct their business and invests a lot of resources in continued training and development. Company events allow coworkers to come together and bond in a friendly atmosphere.

As with any sales position, the job itself is the most daunting part - dealing with rejection, tough timelines, and the tedium of administrative tasks which can sometimes get in the way of revenue-generating activities. However, the challenge is its own reward for the eager salesperson.

Fun environment, It is very competitive and face paced.

Long hours and you get what you put in like many things in life, hard work pays off. Positive attitude a must as well as a self motivator

Fun company to work for - always something exciting going on. Young coworkers, fresh out of college and university. Easy to move up and advance, unfortunately pay & benefits are not competitive with positions elsewhere within the industry.

Fun place to work. A lot of lunch and learns!
Corporate Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON28 July 2012
To work here you have to be someone who is self motivated. It's a very competitive environment. However, if you are able to put in consistent efforts it will pay off. I learned what it takes to be successful in sales and business development.
Pros
vendors are always giving you free stuff! food, swag, etc.
Cons
in higher pressure sales settings things can get ugly sometimes.
