Business Intelligence Developer in Ottawa, ON
on 7 February 2021
Great place to work
I worked with the IT department from 2003 - 2004 as a developer. I learned many skills such as oracle development, data analysis, and project management. The management was always supportive and encouraging. It was a highly collaborative environment.
Research Assistant in Ottawa, ON

Stressful colleauges and work environment
Staff at Carleton are sour and unplesant, making an already stressful graduate degree even worse. At best they have been slow and uninterested in helping to nearly the point of negligince. There are a few incredible professors that care about their research and about teaching. They do provide some good services such as mental health services. But for the most part I found the engineering and work culture to be unpleasant, and the facilities to be outdated.
Attendant (personal support worker) in Ottawa, ON
on 25 June 2020
Good
Overall it’s a very good place to work. The only negative part is some members of management don’t seem to manage. The main man in charge that started the program however is phenomenal and the attendants themselves are fairly self sufficient
Contract Instructor in Ottawa, ON
on 12 June 2020
A good place to learn and grow
Working at Carleton University as a Contract Instructor has been an enjoyable and valuable process that taught me a lot about how to make the transition from graduate student to academic professional.
Contract Instructor in Ottawa, Canada

Isolation of contract instructors
Contract Instructors are seen as dispensable, have no job security and no pensions. Full-time faculty avoid you and pretend you are invisible. You are not part of a larger team guiding the department.

About my life

Shared on 15 September 2019

I was asked why I wanted to work at CU as an undergrad TA. The main part of the interview was seeing if you had the appropriate grade and time management skills.
