How do you feel about the future of Carea Community Health Centre?

7 answers

I am not sure how I feel about the future of this agency. At this point it feels hopeless as we keep crying out for help but are constantly rejected and things stay the same. But i am hopeful that things can change and that leadership and HR will try to listen to what we are saying. I do hope they will prove me correct.

I feel pessimistic about the future of this place. The frontline workers of this agency are not a “few miserable people.” We are the backbone of this agency serving the people of the community, which is obviously unappreciated. There is no civil war between a majority of noble, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed employees and a few villains in the minority: This is about an inept Leadership that is ruining the community health centre for ALL frontline workers and the people of the community. This is why I am pessimistic about the future of this place - unless and until the leadership is replaced.

I feel hopeless and pessimistic about the future of Carea. Not so long ago, previous clinical managers were the heart and soul of Carea, working hard to advance a positive vision for the agency. However, they, like so many others, have left. Rightfully so, those who left recognized that their health and sanity needed to be tended to and cared for. They escaped the jaws of the soul-crushing machine known as ‘Carea,’ and no person of goodwill can blame them. There ain’t no care at Carea!! Things have certainly not gotten any better. So, scapegoating the managers who have left to showcase a veneer of sunshine and rainbows is disingenuous and dishonest. HR should know better. So, I feel sick about the future of Carea.

The culture at Carea could definitely improve but won't until the few bitter and miserable people that I work with, that are ruining things for those of us who want to be here, finally leave. It might take their retirement so they can get their full pension(which isn't far for some of them), or maybe when they realize that it's time for them to move on, we can start to build a better culture. For now I surround myself with people that appreciate working at Carea, having great benefits, having a pension and working with many talented individuals.

I feel promise and positivity about the future of Carea. We now have a fantastic clinical services manager who listens and has created a safe space for open discussion. She allows us to be self-directed and doesn't micromanage her team. She shows a united front with the other manager from Health Promotion and they appear to work well together supporting both of their teams. This is the polar opposite of the previous clinical managers. So, I feel great about the future of Carea.

I feel demoralized and hopeless about the future of Carea Community Health Centre. The agency doesn't know where it's come from and it doesn't know where it's going. The place has been ruined by incompetent leadership. The community - and taxpayers - are the ones who ultimately suffer.
