Small company trying to go big. Need to clean house in management from the top down for this goal. hire/promote inexperience so they can pay less.

Not the worst job you could have. Do not pay high enough for squamish living expenses. Need capable people in their roles. Pay is sporadic and doesn't seem to be based on experience, merit, time at the company or even position. (People making more than their boss)

Pros

Some great people, not too stressful. You get to live in Squamish

incompetency in every department across the board.

Weird place to work but lots of great people.

Poor management. Trying to build an innovative new plant with many people in management and engineering that have very little plant experience. Rhetoric from management, public relations and website was terribly different from reality on the ground/in the plant. They'd always be talking about be a 'clean' plant with 'innovative' tech. The reality is that it's a chemical plant. Chemical plants are dirty and make a lot of garbage like any other plant of this size. Anyways, it was always hard to hear about how innovative our tech was but then have to move chemicals via shovel, bucket and manlift. Made it difficult to take the place seriously.

Pros

Great people work (and stay) there because Squamish attracts generally great people, Paid vacation, One of the most inspiring work locations out there, Tiny commute.

Cons

Shift work, No OT available at the time I was there. Apparently it's available now, Not really a progression system for pay; whatever you negotiate is where you'd start, So sometimes you'd have less experienced people making more then more experienced people.

Their technology does not work and management is terrible, pushing engineers to accept fake design.

Do not work here, this company lacks basics. Technology is not true.incompetent managerd will ask engineer to accept their wrong design, no freedom of speech, they do not accept feedback or any request for improvements
