Fast space , have to move and walk around a lot , I find only D shift as worst shift , don’t prefer D shift. All the internal job posting are seniority bases .

Nice working environment but physically demanding

I like working with this company.Good experience with team .However, physical demanding job with high temperature environment inside.I liked company culture and I enjoyed working over there till I worked there.

The managers are very easy to talk to. Keep your head in the game and you will work out there just fine. I enjoyed working there. I joined the joint health and safety, I became a trainer, and much more. I think Canplas is one of the better companies to work for.

Great and productive

fast paced at the start, after a couple months once you get the hang of things you learn the rythm of the machines it's a perfectly steady workplace. We work in Teams and alternate machines multiple times during the shift so it's always different and at least on my shift we make sure no one is left struggling because everybody at some point is going to be on those machines so you get what you give so we all work together to make it as easy as we can for everybody

Like most jobs, you get out what you put in. If you work safely and show initiative you can thrive here. They are trying to improve the environment for employees with theme days, better services and focus on work life balance.

It’s a nightmare

Don’t work here. HR is a brat and management will leave you high and dry. Other operators will gossip non stop and you will probably get out on nights. Supervisors get paid to sit in their offices all day and let you struggle. High turnover rate

Canplas is a very good place to work. There is a big emphases on safety and work life balance. There are yearly employee BBQ's, bonuses and other perks. You are encouraged to offer continuous improvement ideas and are recognized if they work out well.

Can you handle it?

Honestly it depends on your outlook, your work ethic, and whether or not you want to engage in gossip and drama.Not going to lie when I first started I almost quit six or seven times, I found the sets were too hard and too fast to keep up, now I can work the "hardest" sets like I'm running a single machine. Remember everything takes time and practice, and don't be afraid to ask "is there a better way to run this set?" Chances are if you ask, the senior staff will give advice.When you first start don't be discouraged if no one but your trainer and fellow trainees talk to you. Everyone has been told for the training period we are not aloud to give advice or help out because it will interfere with the process. As a trainer I can tell you this is absolutely true, and I reminded my trainees not to take it personally. You are going to work for your money, it can be fast paced, sometimes frustrating, but your not getting paid to sit on you butt and do nothing. If you want something like that go somewhere else and good luck.The hours are long 12 it sucks especially if you have young kids, your constantly tired and feel guilty because you don't spend enough time with them. You do work 14 or 15 days out of the month, a week shutdown in the summer and two weeks shutdown over Christmas and New Years, plus the longer you're there you get additional weeks off.It needs to be said your life would be so much calmer and positive if you just don't feed the gossip and drama, who cares what so and so said about this person or that person, the only time to get involved with this is if it violates -

I was setup technician at Canplas for 8 months but it was good learning experience for me, work environment is best, and people are nice to each other, management is supportive.

Good place to be, very fast paced. Staff, management are very understanding. Certain shifts were known to have lots of drama but I never encountered a whole lot myself.

Slavoury

Worked there for 4 days, got a bad back pain. Supervisors are terrible. The job position was machine operator but actually it's a labor job. Simply I can call it slavoury. No real breaks for 12 hr shift. Terrible place I ever worked. Don't waste your time. They will assign four machine for one employee you can't keep up with that. Running back n fourth the whole shift.
