Pros
Les quelques collègues plaisant
Cons
L'ensemble de la gestion

Bad management
Caissière (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - 23 November 2023
The company suffers from bad management, they push for you to sell the company credit card even if people don't need it. The schedule is never the same unless you suck up to someone that's a head cashier

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Leamington, ON - 23 November 2023
I love working for canadian tire. I left my old job due to a lot of negativity and poor management. Leamington has amazing managers who actually care for their crew!

Lube and Tire Technician (Former Employee) - Athabasca, AB - 22 November 2023
The management/ owner refused to pay my profit sharing for the full term that I work there. it was very disappointing for a company that sounds to be so great of a place, never working for a corporation like that again
Pros
Discount on stuff
Cons
Bad people to work for

I don't recommend to work their
Team Lead (Former Employee) - Remote - 22 November 2023
There is a noticeable trend of layoffs affecting Canadian employees, with jobs being outsourced to consulting companies operating outside North America. This raises concerns about the company's commitment to retaining a local workforce and supporting employment within Canada community. Another issue of note pertains to disparities between commitments made during the hiring process and the actual implementation outlined in contracts. While promises were made to address certain aspects contributing to a positive work environment, there appears to be inconsistency in upholding these commitments. This misalignment has resulted in a growing sense of dissatisfaction and frustration among employees. Furthermore, the attribution of performance issues or contract discrepancies as grounds for reducing entitlements, even after a considerable period, has raised questions about the fairness and transparency of the evaluation and adjustment processes.

Minimum wage, maximum expectations
Filler (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 22 November 2023
They expect fillers to train non-fluent english speaking new hires with no compensation. The overnight hours are good (guaranteed full time set schedule) but the warehouse is very unorganized and overcrowded, making the job 10x harder than it needs to be. They only pay minimum wage (plus a $1 over-night premium) for fairly strenuous physical labour and constantly swamp the understaffed crew with too much work then complain when something doesn’t get finished. Seems to be a lot of miscommunication and day staff like to send an excessive amount of overstock out to the floor every night.

Terrible Management
Sales Associate/Cashier/Customer Service (Current Employee) - Edson, AB - 16 November 2023
A typical day at work consists of getting harassed by customer and managers. The employees do not help out other employees unless they want to, which leads to nothing getting done. The only reason I’ve stayed is to be able to see one of my fellow employees once a week (who I would not see outside of Canadian Tire.)
Pros
Employee Discount
Cons
Awful Management

Don't waste your time here.
Overnight Stocker (Former Employee) - Okotoks, AB - 16 November 2023
Communication was lacking and the training was mediocre at best. They expect you to work as fast as the long term employees when you don't know the layout while paying you the bare minimum (wage was not disclosed in the interview) some coworkers were great and willing to help while others complain. This is not a company i would suggest a retail or stock experienced individual to pursue, the grass is definitely greener where you are already.
Pros
none
Cons
underpaid for the work

Learning experience and learning how to be patient with coworkers and especially customers. Wish the pay would be better.
Customer Service Associate/Automotive (Former Employee) - Cornwall, ON - 16 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? I worked in automotive parts, once you take the time to know the staff in automotive parts and service, they are a great bunch to work with. Manager in that department can be gruff and tough but he is fair and will give the shirt off his back to help you. Very accommodating. You absolutely have to be confident in your knowledge in car parts and products and the learning curve is fast. Show up for your shifts and be honest and you will do well. They also will have the most hours to offer out of any other department in the store. The rest of the store departments, The down side mainly is when they mean part time, “THEY MEAN PART TIME!” The other departments have had slashed the hours available especially in slow seasons. The reason I left was mainly because the drastic increase in pay per hour and guaranteed full time hours at my new place of employment. I liked making connections with my customers. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? For me it was nights, They only run one person at night on the parts counter and you don’t have much support from the other department managers. The auto manager is usually done at 5. It can get really busy really fast. You are on your own basicaly What is the work environment and culture like at the company? They are a very social group. They have events sometimes. Can be very clicky. Again at Auto we have our own group and a Parts manager who has our backs which is very hard to find. Work environment can be fast and demanding. Get good shoes -
