I totally enjoyed my job at CSIS, but the management was not good in the department that I worked in.The pay was way too low for the amount of work..and not enought staff for the work load.

Necessary work - beneficial to all Canadians. HR regime has improved enormously over the years. The training provided is exemplary. Very tough to get it - but well worth it!

Very productive and lively work environment

It was a great experience to work for the Cameroon general certificate of education board. The staff worked collaboratively to ensure optimum effectiveness.

The performance of each investigator is accurately measured and appropriately acknowledged by management.

Security Investigator (Former Employee) - Toronto office - 20 January 2014

Conduct security interviews on individuals seeking to work for the federal government or the sensitive sector ie. Atomic Energy and is required to have a security clearance as condition of employment. Conduct the follow up investigation on the information gathered during the interview, prepare a detailed report with a recommendation to grant or deny a clearance. Conduct security interviews on individuals seeking to immigrate to Canada. Complete a detailed report outlining the reason to grant or deny a clearance. Travel to various immigration offices to conduct such interviews. The job included extensive travel mostly driving to various locations to cover northern Ontario. However, this job was very enjoyable due to the autonomy given to each investigator.

Pros

The job included the use of government vehicles and meals when out of the office and a per diem.

Cons

extensive travel up to 500 km per day over and above interview time and follow up investigation.

Extremely interesting place to work

It is unlike any other job out there! I can't really provide too much detail on the work, but it is always interesting, always demanding and always rewarding.
