Police Communications (Former Employee) - Montreal - 4 December 2022
Working for the railway is a lifestyle, not a job. Rotating shifts, time deadlines and if trains are not running money is being lost. That said, I found most people to be pleasant, but there is an overlying stress and pessimism which can make for a toxic working environment. Management was immature, vindictive and played favorites which created distrust and animosity within the team.
Pros
Benefits, railway work, decent salary, iconic brand
Cons
Long hours, rotating shifts, little to no work life balance, toxic culture

Culture getting worse by the day. Safety on the back burner and work life balance horrible. Shift work, nights, evenings and days off mid week. Don’t recommend
