Not enough instruction what to look for on parts that come out of machine you need to know what your doing before you work there otherwise you'll be lost and won't work out very well.

Hard work ignored, brown nosing encouraged

If you like to brown nose and point the finger at someone else while doing zero work this is the career for you! A environment where you're encouraged be a yes person and pass the blame to anyone else. Changes are implemented poorly with little thought and zero practical applications, the management team has the general philosophy of do what they say regardless how Ludacris it is, or if it will cost he company money, and in the end of it doesn't work out it's your fault for not doing it correctly, the fact that the plan was made and forced on you to use matters not! Truly a reprehensible place to work, it's management versus everyone. They preach teamwork while not communicating and expecting you to turn your life upside down for them at a moment's notice. Company treats new TPT workers so poorly most rarely last more than one day, never have the staff to do you job properly, you're likely to be a labourer yourself most days due to staff shortages.

Pros

All the hours you could ever want to work

Cons

Ludacris expectations, no work life balance, little support from your superiors.

Terrible Policies

You need to work here 1080 hours to get your seniority instead of the usual 480, paying union dues from day one. You have to work 18 MONTHS steady to get your benefits. Even after getting your seniority, management will change your shift or lay you off for a few days with less than 24 hours notice. Sometimes the only notice is a sheet of paper amongst tons of such sheets on a bulletin board. There are people currently on their THIRD different shift in less than a week. You work next to people making double your wage, doing the same exact job because of the "tiered" system. The union here should be ashamed of taking money from these people, and the human resource department is a joke. The actual work isn't bad, and the people working there are mostly pretty good.

Pros

Getting paid

Cons

Too many to mention

work place

not very work friendly place, to many workers standing around doing nothing while others are working harder to try a cover there lazy work habits. weird hours for certain position, placing workers on machinery but not showing them the proper way to operate it. in a 3 month period, 2 workers have been hit by forklifts.

Summer Job

I worked at CEL to make some quick money over the summer. Nice place to work but I was not there too long because I got into a program and had to leave. Great experience though.

Productive, Competitive and a busy environment

day to day activities include checking the parts for standard quality, teach operators if they are doing new job, solve the problems occuring due to machine faults or operator faults. Learning experience includes procedures like FMEA, root cause analysis, TWTT, Pareto, Layered process audits. Management is a tough one because they care about production more rather than the employees but still they manage the company well. Co-workers are amazing. They treated me like friend and helped me out with the work. Though i'm a fresher, they helped to learn things in easy manner. The hardest part of job is to judge the quality when it is minute problem. You have to go with your instincts, the history of the parts problems and where the part is used. The most enjoyable part is also the same as the hardest part as we have to apply our mind and think in various aspects which enhances our skills and interacting with the people is also another enjoyable part of the job

Pros

Good interaction with all level of employees

Cons

Management should be better in treating people
