Deckhand (Current Employee) - St. John's, NL - 13 February 2021
Working for the Canadian Coast Guard is an opportunity of a lifetime. There are lots of opportunities for advancement. They offer courses to suit your needs.Everyone works as a team. There are also the cons. They respond to all types of rescue calls and sometimes the seas can be rough making the sailors seasick. Also 28 days at sea can cause homesickness for many.
Pros
Free meals, great benefits, comradeship.
Cons
28 days at sea, seasickness
