Short shifts so the rest of your day is open

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Early morning shifts are finished super early, so it doesn't interfere with other day jobs you have. Pay is good, but need to review paystubs a lot to make sure its accurate. Most people are good to work with, work is easy and very repetitive.

Pros

Relatively high pay for this area, shifts dont interfere with other working hours at second jobs

Cons

Short shifts, on casual roster for years before getting part time position, no guarantee of hours

Excellent

Basically Canada Post is similar to any other large Corporation in terms of Cash Flow. Obviously they need more cash coming in than going out and they are trying to cut costs to help increase credit as opposed to debt. My career with Canada Post has been exceptional. I have earned great money and learned many skills within this large Corporation.

Pros

Salary, customer service, Management, safety

Cons

attention to front line

it's a hard wrok

Overall, the work is pretty heavy for women, not having any gender discrimination. If you have a good physical condition and a truck, and if you have a lot of flexible time, you can have a try. But, honestly, you cannot count on this job to support yourself very well. The payment is too low for such a heavy workload.

Letter Carrier

Canada Post has forced 14 hour work days regardless of work life balance or weather conditions and forced overtime causing many injuries to others, while at the same time doubling the work load and eliminating jobs. My co workers are very supportive, and have adjusted to the changes in pain but with a endurance. Management is legislative so open communication is void. The hardest part of the job is the politics and trying to do your job without the political distraction. The best part is being physically active, interacting with the public, and the duties themselves.
