It's a great company to work for. Just wish they would give their P/T and Temp employees benefits especially when you have a family. Working as a letter carrier is very challenging since you have to work in all weather conditions rain or shine even snow storms!
your own boss
driving and walkng door to door to delivery mail in any weather condition
My work experience was rewarding for 31 yrs. Canada Post provides lots of training, on and off the job so that employees perform the best at their jobs. Pay and benefits are also good. The workplace is also fun and has a gym so that employees can focus on fitness along with programs to help employees engage in healthy eating habits.
Canada Post is a great company to work for. Learned a lot since I have been there, especially the way the mail are handled before they leave the plant to go out to be delivered. The management is great and very helpful. Workplace culture is great. Can't think of anything hard about the job. Working in teams is awesome
flexible hours, you are your own boss
driving in winter
The company has changed so much that any review by myself would be in accurate. When I did work here it was fun and laid back. As I know it know the job I had here doesn't exists any longer.
Laid back enviroment
Being a letter carrier was mostly fun, meeting people and business associates on the route and helping customers with relevant enquiries Learned a lot how to interact with customers and explaining company policies when necessary. enjoyed training new hires, Most difficult part of job, working outside during snow storm

Mail collection and separate Fast pace Very co operative Management Co workers are amazing Must Deliver, no matter what weather conditions Free atmosphere / You can plan your day as you wish
Un predictable Mail and parcel quantity
+Arrive at Depot between 4:30a & 5:30a. +Sort Mail for 5 or 6 hours +Deliver Out all Mail, Parcels, & Required Signatures +The job itself gets better in time. It can take being with the company for months or over a year to develop speed that gets the mail sorted within 2 to 3 hours & based on the size of the route, delivered in 3 to 4 hours +Aside from wind, rain, snow, & below temperatures, the most difficult part of the job is the hours spent grasping the ins and outs +Really challenging for new staff +They do not have proper *new trainee* support +But Canada Post will assign an experienced employee who will then allow the new staff to shadow with him for 3 days maximum and then the new person is then on their own +Shuffled around weekly sometimes daily on different routes can be a challenge for a new employee +Use your own vehicle +Wear & tear on your vehicle +No reimbursement for gas, only on kilometers +I learn to appreciate my mail when I see it in the box +Management & staff there are very supportive and will cheer you on!
Decent Pay & Unsupervised Work environment
Extremely long hours for new employees!
very productive place ..to much work to do regarding delivering ..sorting and driving specially in winter weather..the hardest part is walking to deliver door to door in very cold weather during winter time but on the other hand you enjoy communication with other people and customers that you get to know over the days of working
free lunch hour
