Abusive relationship with employees
Letter Carrier/Delivery Agent (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 2 August 2022
They'll act like your friend but stab you in the back. Every day they'll make a speech about "it's hot out there", "its cold out there", "we've got lots of packages today" "beware of dogs" etc, take your time, make it safe, cut off delivery if you have to. But than scold you for bringing anything back on anything other than 40+/40- heat waves/blizzards. If you can't finish you're expected to do OT, which sucks because who wants to do OT during extreme heat and risk heat stroke, or if you have a family or life outside of work and want to be home to care for them. Also they'll "thank you" (not really) for getting it done but then turn around and accost you for doing too much overtime you never wanted to in the first place.
Pros
Working alone, good exercise (weather dependent)
Cons
High stress environment, little support

Mail Carrier (Former Employee) - Lower Mainland, BC - 25 July 2022
Very stressful crown corporation military style run job . High rate of quitting or fired around 80% first year. Do your research before applying. A truthful employee or past one wouldn't recommend this job as it is much more demanding then in past. Management is very nasty and uncaring. A mail carrier will have to Sort mail fast, including flyers, deliver and drive fast, including parcels, and contend with unreasonable demands from managements. lots of head games. very physical, and sorting mail can be a breaker if your slow or adhd. Toxic environment wt poor union effect and values.

Postal Clerk (Former Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 30 July 2022
It’s an ok job if you’re doing it part time. Pay should be more considering it takes more skill than just a cashier. No room for growth or anything, very meh.
