As a relief Mail carrier, how much notice would you get prior to starting a shift and how often would you be expected to be on call?

  • On average, you get called about an hour before you are to report to work.

    As for your second question, every places are different; in smaller cities, it takes generally takes much longer to become permanent while in larger urban center, things move much faster and you can hope to become permanent after a year. I have somebody in my depot that became permanent in about 6 months.
