Sales Associate/Key Holder (Former Employee) – North Bay, ON – 4 May 2018
I had a great time working at Campus Crew but unfortunately the location in my hometown was forced to close due to the Family-owned business not being able to support many of the locations in the Northern Ontario region.
Store Manager (Former Employee) – Oshawa, ON – 6 July 2018
After comparatively reviewing campus crews upper management vs other retail settings. Campus Crew is one of the absolute worst companies. There is a veil of secrecy that the "owners" and upper management work behind. They will lie about available stock and ultimately regardless of feigned promises that they will give sufficient notice they will close stores at last minute without any care or concern for their employees. They order too much stock and then will open "pop up" shops to attempt offloading. The do ABSOLUTELY NO ADVERTISING for locations and DO NOT SUPPORT Building of the business in local communities. There is absolutely no managerial support to run the store. They ultimately cease paying overhead such as Telephone, Internet and Lease/Rental agreements. There seems to be a lot of promise and potential for a company with such wide recognition and brand appreciation as campus crew - Unfortunately with the owners and upper management being completely ignorant in successful retail...all there "efforts" will ultimately end in closures and layoffs. I would NEVER accept a position with Campus Crew regardless of the offering. it will be short-lived and ultimately you will have lost viable and valuable opportunities with companies who care about Longevity of their brand, their employees and ultimately their customers.
Lack of Communication, Lack of Stock Replenish, No investment from ownership and upper management. Lies from upper management.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Hamilton, ON – 18 February 2018
Typical day was good, a bit slow but that's fine workplace culture was more so Canadian inspired Management was good, one day this person, next day this person, for this hour to this hour The hardest part was that our store wasn't very popular so we didn't get many people, so the shifts were slow and long
I liked helping out customers, and it was good seeing they bought something because I encouraged them
not enough people coming into the store, slow hours
Productive, Fun Loving and Energetic Work Environment
Sales Associate (Current Employee) – Port Carling, ON , Brantford, ON, Hamilton, ON – 28 April 2017
I love Campus Crew. From the workplace: selling, store setup, amazing staff and customer service to Head Office Staff Communication. I love ever minute I spend at Campus Crew.......and $$ Spend $$ at Campus Crew! Let's face it, you can't beat the amazing Quality, Comfort and Style of Campus Crew. The fleece is amazing and the In House Embroideries created are one of a kind! The Product LASTS!!!!! Wash after wash, I've got a closet full of item I bought years ago still in mint condition. (Which I also hear from Customer everyday!!!) I live in my Campus Crew and recommend working or shopping at this store to anyone!!
Key Holder (Former Employee) – St. Catharines, ON – 16 January 2017
I worked at Campus Crew for 3 years, and we all unexpectedly lost our jobs, as did many other stores. The company was very secretive and bad with communication. I felt disposable no matter how hard I worked or what I sacrificed. I would not recommend anyone to work for Campus Crew until they improve their employee care, and management style.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Burlington, ON – 24 May 2016
I felt that while I was working I was never told a specific task that needed to be completed. Management was quite confusing and disorganized as well. Shifts were inconsistent and hours shifts were very short.
Sales Associate (Part-time) (Current Employee) – London, ON – 12 March 2016
Busy season for us is September - January, so there's almost never a minuet to slow down but after that it slows down a bit.
I really like my co-workers and managers, they are all very understand people to work with and very supportive. There isn't much advancement opportunity in the company unless you are able to work full time or re-locate.
Hardest part of the job would be the slow period when there's nothing to do but management expects you to be productive or still make sales goals. The most enjoyable would be the relaxed work atmosphere.
Sales Associate (Current Employee) – Burlington, ON – 12 November 2015
The working environment at Campus Crew is comfortable and enjoyable! The store is usually in great looking condition and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Team work is very important and everyone there works together very well. The store is managed extremely well, and everyone is encouraged to do their best. Sometimes there is low traffic volume but the hard working sales associates make up for it.
