Cons

Long hours

Malpractice

Toxic culture, new hires untenured (called Non-Regular) are treated HORRIBLY. They will use you, wear you out, hold out the hope of job security, not likely to come, in the meantime you will pick up any course they throw at you, unsupervised, work evenings and summers, make a portion of the pay of your Regular colleagues, for the same work, and no benefits or job security.

Pros

Interurban has a great place for lunch.

Cons

Everything else.

Great place to work

Probably the best place I have ever worked. Amazing people to work for and with. You truly feel like one big family. Great pay, great benefits. Amazing support for each other.

Great workplace with good benefits

Overall a good sense of community and services. A typical day involved answering emails, going to meetings, and interfacing with instructors, staff and students. I learned important time management skills there along with technical elements of the servers. The culture is positive, driven, but supportive. The hardest part of the job was multi-tasking when multiple clients were needing support. The most enjoyable part of the job was the community.

Slow paced, low pay but job security is high

Good place to work, slow paced but culture is fine, coworkers are cool. The projects vary, at times things can be very slow, other times you can have a project to work on.

Wonderful place for students

a great place to work and be a part of watching people develop there skills and seeing individuals grow and be successful. the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting students from all over the works, all with different stories and experiences.

Worked there for years.Beginning was good older culture.

Quality of work satisfaction diminished after working there a number of years. As chairs, deans and administrators came and went the culture became more hostile. Very little appreciation of experienced teachers and a generally ageist attitude. I appreciated that a union was in place to help defend faculty against unfair against unfair

Great work community

It's a great group of people who are poorly managed. The management team is constantly getting scrapped and rebuilt, but they are never address the core problems

Productive, active and social environment.

I love working in a group with individuals that had similar objectives as mine. Multitasking was an asset, order, responsibility, social interactions, and overall fun, enjoyable workplace and team members.

Fun Place to Work

Very fun place to work with great staff and lots of laughs. There was opportunity to learn other positions within the Student Society office. Management was friendly.

Pros

Fun

Terrible labour relations

Sadly, a decade of under-funding of public education has gutted this college like so many other institutions in the province. The result includes an administration that is perpetually at war with the unions. The grievances pile to the sky while morale sinks. Teaching excellence is paid lip-service, but there is no accountability other than in the counting of beans to balance budgets. Students deserve far better. Tone deaf administration confuses an archaic and authoritarian management style with progressive and creative leadership.

Pros

Students will always be the highlight.

Cons

Administrative incompetence, poor advancement opportunities, stagnant culture

Very fun time doing this job

Was a summer part time job working with very talented people, sharing time with young student, giving guidance about Canadian culture, and showing them about habits and costume that people do every day.

Pros

Sharing time with students

Cons
